A Call to all Daggerfall Covenent

    Parthian Tactics is a constant game of harassment. You NEVER directly engage the enemy..Small groups of 10 man raid teams move all over the map, attacking lumber mills, mines, anything that is a low hanging fruit target of interest. Find spots of ambush and opportunity between keeps and going for all the easy kills you can.

    You guys can play these Parthian Tactics however you want, There is no one man in charge, there is no general or leadership structure, its just a game of constant harassment and situational awareness.

    The Scythians, Huns, Turks, Magyars, and Mongols, all employed these tactics to great success....Attilla the Hun and Genghis Khan, two of the most brilliant military minds and conquers in history used these tactics, and won wars were they were very often outnumbered.

    This strategy forces the opponent into making choices, the more choices you present your adversary with, the greater the odds he makes the wrong one. This is how we have to play this.
    Say AD is sieging Glademist with a large force...instead of everyone rushing to Glademist, we should have 2 or 3 small scale siege operations of our own on AD keeps and force them to make a choice...either divert necessary men to defend those keeps, or push forward taking Glademist, and them losing the other 2 keeps due to having no defenders in place.

    This is how we have to play this if you want to win!

    The other factions advantage is sheer numbers and zergballs, we take that away from them (by playing more of a Parthian War where moving in large, slow cumbersome zerg groups) is a disadvantage rather then an advantage. We take away their ability to stack close together and spam....we draw them in the open field and play a constant game of harrassment, get a few kills, never engage, back off, rinse and repeat.

    Become that annoying fly they just never seem to be able to swat.

    I post this because there are numerous ways this can be played, Parthian Tactics have been around for thousands of years, each group is their own master and plays this Parthian Game however they want to, gank, resource attack, whatever, there is no one man in charge, no one group will play this strategy in the same way, but if we all have the same goal(Parthian Tactics), and work together without so much as speaking a word (folks will automatically go attack enemy keeps when they are sieging ours) you will see success in this campaign go up significantly, and you will also have your pockets full of AP.

    So Parthian Tactics for the win, gank, cap resources, constant game of harassment, never directly engage enemy armies, move in small teams of raiders and hit easy targets of opportunity, do whatever. its just guerilla warfare.


    Alexander the Great failed to conquer Afgan due to the Parthian Tactics and a game of harassment played with him.

    So play this however you want, each man is his own, but please stop chasing the enemy back to Bleakers or Nikel and getting wiped over and over...harassment...constant harassment...patience...we will get our opportunity to strike...until then.,..force them to fight you on "your terms" where "you make the rules"

    If more and more people play these Parthian Tactics we will outright annoy the other factions into outright anger...They will be boiling over always seeing multiple resources being attacked all the time, folks ganking enemy transit routes,. etc...

    You will get satisfaction that some AD or EP guild is cussing and mad at this constant annoying game we are playing.

    We are outnumber, look throughout history...when outnumbered you play Parthian Tactics/Guerilla Warfare with your opponent and take his numbers advantage away from him.

    so emply this however you want ladies and gents, each man is his own master, each woman is her own master, just like the Companions of Whiterun...been no true leader since Ysgrammor....the unpredictability of how each group and man will employ these tactics is part of the unpredictability and fun :)

    • Fix Volendrung (spawn location - weapon white on the map causing the wielder to keep it forever - usable with emperorship)
    • Remove / Change CPs System, remove current CP/noCP campaigns and introduce one 30days with lock, one with no locks
    • Fix crashes when approaching a keep under attack because of bad / wrong rendering prioritization system
    • Change emperorship to value faction score points and not alliance points - see this and this
    • Fix long loading screens (mostly caused by players joining group out of rendering range)
    • Add 2 more quickslots to the wheel or add a different wheel for sieges weaponry only
    • Fix Balista Bolts not dealing damage on walls or doors if deployed at a certain place

    • Gives players 10 minutes to get back into Cyrodiil after relogging / crashing
    • Add a function to ignore the Claiming system of useless rewards

    • Make forward camps impossible to place near objectives
    • Make snares only available from ground effects abilities
    • Change emperorship to last minimum 24hours

    Well I don't think DC wants to win the thornblade campaign at all, they are just having fun, cause yesterday after dethroning red emp we (ad) took faragut ,then we went to takes kings , we bought down the door and saw blues were inside so left the keep and went to arrius hoping that DC would take their scroll back and we would take red scrolls cause they are leading in points.

    We could have taken the scroll but we thought DC will come back to take it and nothing happened for 2 hours and red pushed completely back :(

    With a combination of the FC changes and the current lag situation, backing a faction into a corner doesn't necessarily net you the results you wanted. Gone are the days you could keep pounding away at a keep for hours until it flipped. The attacks are much, much easier to wipe and dislodge.

    DC certainly did make several attempts at Arrius yesterday, as did AD, and they were only able to flag it a few times, and only once made it into the courtyard in any numbers. Most of the time though, it was 'DC/AD zerg takes resource, starts getting ready to move out to the next one, or starts setting up siege, EP zerg sallies forth and wipes them, ignoring casualties as they're the ones with unlimited respawns'

    Why? Because the entire EP faction was present in one keep. Even if you get the walls down, the chance of a lagstack happening almost negates the ability to take the keep. Maybe you can get the scroll out, but a single casting of caltrops going off successfully stops that.

    Yesterday the scroll was taken by DC and ran at a distance. I don't know what happened later while we went to help. I saw someone dropped the scroll when we were on the road and it was too late.

    This honestly isn't too far off from the truth. Unlike the other two lines, the corridor between Ales and Chal is tightly constrained by hills and cliffs. This guarantees action is funneled into a given battleground. And that's what the stretch between Bleakers and Ales Farm was late last night.

    DC made little more than a half effort at ramming Bleakers' gate. (EP did try for the farm capture and sieging our walls.) But for the most part we'd push to the front of Bleakers, and then fall back to Ales farm to await EP's push back. And don't get me wrong, back and forth just for the sake of fighting is fun, but they could have changed the game mechanics into a rugby match and I'm not sure we would have noticed.

    The lag was one thing we were worried about too, but with both kingscrest and Farragut gone their transit was cutoff , if both AD and DC attacked on all sides and pick off a few , maybe , just maybe we had a chance is what I am saying...

    But there was one instance where you could have gotten the scroll, when red took our scroll we actually let them go deep inside once they crossed gate we capped drake , alessia ,cause we thought if more of red was here DC had a chance at arrius , and since we cut off red , we were able to get the scroll back but DC scroll run failed too :cry:

    I mean when DC attacks AD , it is so vigorous , we thought you could snatch the scroll easily if those guilds were there.

    And by no means this a green alliance just trying to reduce the gap between EP and AD or enemy of enemy is a friend kind of thing :smile:

    It sounded like a good concept for a game. Unfortunately, the Ram build has been OP forever. GL getting much done with scattershot skills. You will probably get laughed out of group. Class balance anyone?

    No, its because you would rather come harass AD instead of taking care of your own scroll. It's ok though we like the AP that you willingly hand over all day every day.

    Guys, just go get your scroll. Last night Arrius was the only keep red even had, and still blue wasn't able to get it. We even left you guys al one to get it and you still could not get it. /sadface

    I legit lold when the map showed yellow holding nikel, pushing ash...

    While alessia was red, BM/Fare were flagged by red, and blue flagged brindle.

    But yet the ash group never stopped attacking until they lost nikel. Then Fare/Roe fell and people wondered why...

    I will never understand AD.

    We got bored and blue wasn't getting anything done...... this is pvp something had to start happening since blue was obviously too incompetent to do anything regarding arrius.

    As a DC player, I would love to use Parthian tactics. Please see my thread on ZOS implementing an in game Alliance specific grouping tool to help make PvP more organized for each faction. If ZOS does not do this then there should be an add-on made.

    If EP can't hold Arrius when DC attack, the LAG must begin. So what should DC do?

    Yep and a few of us DC were there ready to roll but in DC zone chat it's more said than done and every ride back to Arrius was groups of DC standing on the keep walls spamming heals or chat words not moving .
    Anytime one of DC's good guild leaders yells for a faction push you would think they called some peoples mom's fat alcoholics , The Zone chat wars crank up and maybe a 1/3 of the DC pop actually rides to the occassion .
    One would think after being ripped by an enemy faction the pugs would catch on and adapt but it aint happening for many in the blue world , some nights are funny and depressing all at once .

    Something NEEDs to be done to encourage organization and cooperation in factions for exactly the reasons you have listed. I'm not sure why ZOS has not thought of this, namely, they need to ask themselves: For PvP what is the path of least resistance to get individual players organized?
    It seems to me that it is harder for guilds to organize sustained PvP assaults and actions than for individual players to decide how to organize themselves. The result is chaos over the zone chat in Cyrodil.
    I have experience leading my guild in to battle and trying to organize pickups so . . .
    If it were possible to have a menu in each alliance that clearly shows which guilds are in an Alliance and what groups are focused on the PvP or other PvE objectives in Cyrodil it would help a lot.

    And the argument that it would only encourage spying, I think is outweighed by the benefits of organization that each alliance would gain.
