    And as for how to make Poles; when a Mommy Pole and a Daddy Pole love each other very much, they get certain feelings... I mean, look at how the population of Warsaw alone has grown in the last few years.

    Actually, yes. I was in the Army in the early 1980s with a guy who had that precise last name. Nobody in the outfit could pronounce his name, so we called him "Eyechart."

    Years later I was reading a Harry Turtledove book where he hung that exact same nickname on a guy with another Eastern European, no-vowels name. Go figure.

    Haha, I can imagine. My last name is nigh unpronounceable too. :)
    It doesn't sound quite right though - Eastern European names usually get mangled somewhere along the way, it could have happened here. Or maybe it's just an unusual name. *shrug*
