What's the best resource to help me learn how to distribute points?

After having been (mostly) gone from the game for the last 4 months, I came back to see our attribute points reset.

I see this as the perfect time to get help in picking the perfect attribute point setup.

Can anyone help me out by listing which sites are accurate or known for giving good information? I felt like I wasn't finding what I was looking for when I searched.

I am:

:star:Destruction Staff
:star:Restoration Staff
:star:Light Armor

Attribute point distribution hasn't changed a whole lot (unless I've missed something).

You still want the vast majority of your points in health, but since there are a lot more points now, I've found that I can easily put a good number in magicka and/or stamina to add some damage.

A lot of people do seem to swear by putting everything in health for attributes and then using your armor set and enchants to get the magicka or stamina that you want. I've recently respecced to take this advice but still need to re-do my armor because right now I am not liking NOT having as deep a magicka pool as I am used to. :(

See I go for majority in Magicka and then the rest in health, with a few in stamina to aid 'silver shards' which I use to give my magicka time to recharge......

I don't find health to be an issue but magicka.... well even with various 'recharge abilities' I always end up short. :)

Figure out how much health you need for your role. As a DPS, I'd shoot for about 2.5k. Dump the rest into magicka. Done.

This is what I used to do and I may go back to it. Gonna see how this new build works out though once they fix the damn vet points screwup! lol

Dead men cast no spells. Don't gimp yourself on health. This assumes you want to be able to do difficult endgame group content. If you enjoy the solo content and that is your main focus, health is less of an issue. But you don't want to be going into vet dungeons without adequate amounts of health.

It is for a good reason this is the best option when it comes to attribute points.
Many people have different needs for when their doing Solo pve, group pve, trials, solo pvp, group/raid pvp, ganking pvp etc etc.
in trials and pvp a lot of hp is a very nice thing to have.

Its a lot easier to switch around armor sets with different enchantments then to respect attribute points every single time. Having attribute in hp and whatever else you need on armor/jewlery makes switching a lot easier and quicker.
probably cheaper too in the long run if you craft yourself.

If you mix around with attribute points for one build, it wount necessarily fit your other builds/needs. thats why many stick to all in hp.

I have to admit that it just seems kinda sad to me that a game that is billed as a "play your way" game and SUPPOSEDLY has so many different viable builds you could run in practice ends up being one of those games where there's really only one viable build and everyone has to go all cookie cutter.

I don't think that's the only viable build by a long shot. As someone pointed out earlier, 2500 HP is enough for pretty much any content, and then the rest of the point distribution is up to you.

I think I did like 10 in stam, the rest split between magicka and HP or something so ill try boosting only magicka and health.

    Thanks :)

I'm constantly out of mana after very few casts but maybe in a group it will be different. I haven't really played in groups except leveling dungeons. Have not done vet dungeons. I think I'm going to be moving points back within a week of testing but I'll try full HP next time, thanks :D
