I don't think this is the case at all, since plenty of other sites are still going strong and growing. It ESO really that uninteresting that a site like this is withering away?
I've got a lot of data that I keep for myself locally. I don't have time to keep up with maintaining a site, but I've been wanting to upload some of it here. I've got sets/load outs that most players have probably never even considered. It seems a lot of builds that I see are geared only towards PvP or trials, not for the casual PvE player.

What, you think you're too good for Elitists?Sites like ESOHead, WOWHead or Thottbot only exist because power gamer & Elitists use them.
If the site shuts down then this is actually a good sign for ESO as it shows that for these people ESO isn't interesting enough so that we might sooner or later be free from griefing, elitism and trolling.

How often do you need information from them? Some people use the skill
calculator once in a while but that's not generating income for ZAM.
No visitors, no advertising, no income.
And when a company doesn't make money they drop the project.
That's the truth behind the downfall of ESOhead.
Heyas, I'm Calthine and I'm now the ZAM Admin for Esohead.
I've requested a data update for Esohead. Unlike many of our other sites, it's not an automated process and won't be instant. You should see an update soon(tm).
Man, I wrote an awesome reply to this thread today and apparently forgot to hit "submit." Story of my life. So here's where we're at:
Since Esohead launched we've made vast improvements to the architecture of our sites. Esohead uses an older version which makes it problematic work on. Before we can go forward with anything, even data updates, the backend needs to be updated. It isn't a fast or simple process, but will be totally worth it in the end. I'm also hoping it might automagically take care of some outstanding issues.
Complicating things are the impending holidays, which grant us a couple of very short work weeks.
Long story short, you won't see any visible change on Esohead until after the turn of the year. It's already in progress, but it's not stuff y'all can see. I hate to even say it, you've been so patient, but you'll have to wait a little bit longer.
Poor Esohead hasn't been put out to pasture, not yet And for whatever it's worth, you've got me. And I have cookies.
Apparently they're working to bring the site back up to date.

No, no, no, you've got it all wrong. It goes like this:
DOOM DOOM DOOOOOOOOOOM!

There's no good item database, there's no good place to discuss "hardcore" character builds / strategies. There's no big guild website like Elitist Jerks. There's no MMO Champion, no deep class analysis anywhere.
There's just no need for it because this is such a "casual" game, at least in its current state.
The people who make and maintain these types of tools are the hardcore players. This game isn't very appealing to a hardcore player.
