No, because then you end up with what happened to Team Fortress 2. Now, I love TF2, and it's really one of the best games out there. But the game was for sale, then added an in-game market. It started off with hats. Stupid, meaningless hats. Then the game went free to play, and started offering mysterious crates... and requiring $2.50 keys to open them in the CHANCE of getting something rare. 90% of the time it's junk.

But the game developed an entire economy around that, and ultimately drove me away. No, I didn't need to buy them to continue playing. But when it comes to TF2 the servers are all run by players. Fueling an MMO is an entirely different cost.

In an MMO, that's when you start ending up unable to progress in ares due to paywalls. Oh, you want to go to Upper Craglorn? You'll need a writ of passage to get past. You can either spend X hours of grinding to try to find one via drop OR just buy one from the store for $4.99!

That's the kind of crap that happens. I'd rather pay $14.99 and support the game I love. Hell, I buy Starbucks Ventis for a 1/3rd of the cost, drink it for 5-10 minutes and it's done. I'm just going to pee it out later. $5 gone.

At least for $14.99 I get a month's worth of awesome content and monthly updates to keep things a bit more fresh.

The problem with FTP games is they cost to much to play. Zos still will need to make money so they will find a way to get that out of us and as I have found out in many FTP games that is much more costly

This question has now changed, at least for me, to "Will you continue to play ESO once Overwatch is released?"
    "Morally Decentralized."

ive played plenty of FTP models that where awesome (Planetside 2, GW2, DC universe just to name a few).

it all depends on their approach at it. that being said, i foresee it being a *** FTP model on the fact of how often they have made mistakes with this game.

i think the main reason people have quit is because they lost faith in the Dev's capability to fix bugs, Balance the Game etc. it was the main reason i quit with all my friends.

i subbed again to check out what is going on. to be honest im not that impressed what they have accomplished in the last 6 months. when i compare their efforts to recent games i have played, they are way behind the curve.

personally i would prefer FTP over sub with ESO, because ESO just doesn't offer enough content to be a Sub IMO.

I was going to say unsure, but honestly I probably wouldn't. I left EQ2 shortly after it became F2P. Once a game becomes F2P everything ends up behind a paywall. You end up spending more money than your sub fee just to get essential things.

Agreed. I would actually rather see a sub fee INCREASE rather than a shift to a FTP model.

If ZOS actually released "quality" updates with content that I wanted to play then, yeah, heres my $15. As it stands, the content(mainly after level 50) isn't really for me and the actual quality of the software and updates is rubbish.

If pvp was balanced, at a set level and didn't lag like a *** I would pay the sub too. But then it comes back to the quality issues just like the rest of the game.

Serious OP why are you post this again it get very broing that each time we get a new patch post samething about ESO go F2P honest it get really broing.

If you don't like this patch and those problem that go with you can always stop playing this fact is that even WoW have same problem with lag and broken thing in game hell i even reminder when WoW was down for almost 2 day after patch the point is the no mmo is perfect even now WoW have lag problem when come patch AFTER 10 *** YEAR!!!!

So suck it up and liv with it or stop playing i person like ESO so i don't care if have problem after patch and would i play ESO if go F2P most like not for simple reason that is that F2P always cost more then P2P mmo do just look at SWTOR even if you subscribe you waste more money then you should do.

I read a reddit post about why F2P is incredibly difficult to keep a sustainable business model. It's not what ZOS is about nor will it ever be because of the fact it's a privately owned company. Publicly traded, it might go in that direction (F2P) but because it's not, there's very very very little chance. They are making more money now that they would if they even TRIED to switch to a F2P model.

Basically, financially, it's not in their favor.
