The collective hive mind of players will result in add-ons, screenshots, maps, coordinates or any other number of mechanisms to make the maps stand out. And it's hard to constantly reference the map in-game to try to match it up to the world.Tashira_Ronin wrote: »If the intention of the OP is to make the maps more attractive to other players who are of the less collector type, then yes I agree, at the present they are not worth most doing them. I would be happy if they made them drop uber items but for them to be bound on pick up, and rarer. Then other people might find joy in wandering the map trying to find the land marks.
but!
I reckon it would just result in another addon showing where those map points were and the non collector yep zooming there for their loot and not enjoying them for the pirates treasure map style of hunting that they bring now.
I will admit I have a foot in both camps on this, and if it was changed I would shrug. And still loot every container in sight with the hopes of getting one, and all the other goodies I already get.
I tend to snag them when I see them for about 250 or less (deconning the purples can worth it). But as I said, I keep seeing them going for upwards of 5K, so I was wondering if there was something worth it or it's just people hoping for an easy score.Whisper292 wrote: »While some of us may find the treasure hunt enjoyable, you're probably not going to recoup that 500g with what you find in those chests.
Why does everything in the game have to reward you with uber loot to make it worthwhile? The journey is the reward.
With Treasure Maps, the challenge is finding the location and reward is finding the chest after figuring out where that drawing is.
Treasure maps are an excuse explore. If you don't like exploring, toss or sell the map.
