    Last night I played for hours PvP. The whole dynamic of the game has changed. There was very little going on, players were sitting inside keeps and travel to take other keeps was very limited.

    Apart from that one 30 minute span where we started a siege on Bleakers > Chalman > Aleswell > Glade to get our scroll back (for EP), there was a lot of sitting around and not venturing out in fear of getting ganked and having to ride for another 5 minutes to get anywhere.

    The two hours before that and teh two hours after that were so uneventful...

    The only other thing happening was the constant skirmish at Alessia Bridge between EP and AD. Everything else was stagnant.

    I'm getting sick of the sanctimonious responses like "learn not to die". You are kidding me, my K/D ration usual sits around 100 kills: 4 deaths, THAT IS NOT THE POINT.

    I hate to ruin a good righteous rage and all, but maybe they're gathering data. All they've heard since the announced their first solution for forward camps is how terrible and stupid they are. It would make sense to test out how the ecosystem performs when a variable is missing. Personally I would rather they experiment and try new things with something that has been a major problem comes about than just rigidly stick to something most people agree isn't working as intended.

    If I wanted to play an arena shooter that was all fast twitch fast respawns I would go play that, as it stands it is nice to see some genuine consequences to engagements now.

    I truly feel for those of you that are upset by this, no troll. I would however urge you to give it some time before deciding this game is no longer for you, we will be seeing new strategies and tactics come from this and it could end up making PvP an amazing experience.

    All of that said, I personally would like to see more in between keeps and outposts that people can vie for control of in order to secure additional respawning options, but I'm prepared to take a "wait and see" approach I would urge you to do the same.

    The case of the forward camps is pretty simple. The way they were implemented pre-1.5 was detrimental to PvP as a whole, both gameplay and server/client performance. ZOS has stated that they would like to do more fancy stuff with forward camps, like the 'only rez if you died within a certain range' option, but they also stated that they currently do not have the technology (read: code) to do so. This leaves ZOS with just one sane option to solve the forward camp problem and thankfully they bit the bullet and went ahead with removing them altogether.

    How hard is it to provide a service that I pay for? It isn't hard for them to bill my account monthly..that goes off with out a hitch!!!

    How hard is it to cough up what they advertised? Ive been paying for FCs for the last 5 months and was paying for Mercs the first three. At least ONE month I PAID THEM to be ganked at starter gates and am PAYING THEM for the privilege to be the victim of hackers and cheaters. I PAID THEM for a month of ~1 FPS triple A 5 star gaming.~

    My payments haven't gone down .
    My payments have stayed the same.
    My PvP experience HAS declined.

    Emp Farming- Buff Campaigns- Troll Camps-Pop disparity-hellish cues-Scroll Backs..JUST TO NAME A FEW and in response??...they TAKE AWAY FCS!!

    Playing the game....REASONS..I need some.

    If you can't find a reason for yourself to play the game, why keep playing? Why not stop paying them and wait and hope for a day where your expectations will be fulfilled?

    Personally, I'm happy to pay them for all the crappy stuff in the game, as long as I'm having fun with some of the great stuff in the game. Which I am. There's my reason, if you can't find one, I ask you again, why not just stop?

    This is what I never got about posts like this. It's like being in a relationship with someone you hate, and complaining about it to your best friend but never actually breaking up with the person. Break up with ZoS if you're not happy, Tintin.

    And now, crashing is much more of a pain. Even if you manage to log back in Ciro, you r usualy dead and its horse time again ..Or rather walk time sneaking to avoid gankers.
    I agree with the needed nerf of camp. But the present situation is a bit extreme.
    I say, lets experience a bit to see where it goes and maybe they ll find a solution that will please everyone.

    PvP is so unbelievable boring now. Intense Keep defense? Nope.

    Played one hour, reds pushed Sejanus 2x with 50 people and wiped (nice fresh ap tho), then we pushed to BRK and got it after we breached, there was no camp and reds inside died.

    That was one hour of PVP: 5 Minutes Fighting, 10 Minutes Riding, 45 Minutes waiting for something to happen.

    The comments I've read in this thread saying die less have not been saying l2p, as far as I can see. Losing forward camps means dying has greater significance. I realized quickly when I went back to Cyrodiil after the update that I was going to have to modify my play style to account for this and that process will take a few days at least.

    ITT: Baseless guesswork theories of what ZOS is doing.
    • Maybe they are going to bring FCs back after they send their programmers to coding bootcamp to learn how to solve the radius issue.
    • Maybe they will replace forward camps with summonable Guars that you then slaughter in blood sacrifice to Molag Bal in exchange for rezzing 3 of your teammates.
    • Maybe they have this amazing plan for PvP but they still haven't gotten around to implementing it 6 months into the game.
    • Maybe they have no idea how to fix the issues and have given up on PvP because it pushes the game engine to its limits and taxes the servers when PvE is much less time and resource demanding and the accountants and marketers are all pointing this out and urging the powers that be to de-prioritize PvP and focus on PvE customer retention..

    How's that for baseless speculation?

    PvP was fun the few days I played early on, before FCs were in use. We rode in small packs and got to the fight within a minute or so and that was with a 15% speed mount. Plenty of action, granted population might have been higher. Give it time and eventually folks will adjust and PVP will be great again.

    it takes 5 minutes to sneak walk from a friendly keep to an enemy keep if the enemy keep is close by. often less than that. I once got across the entire PvP map in less than 3 minutes without getting ganked.

    though they do need to bring them back I agree. I imagine the lagblobs can insta take keeps right now

    Removing FCs has made ganking so much more viable now. People complaining on here, as they have been in game, simply haven't adapted to the new play style now that they can't charge in suicidally or ride around with impunity if they can't suicide.

    Some people will quit rather than adapt, others will give up on PvP because of their play style doesn't work with the changes and they can't or won't adapt. Others will come back to PvP because ganking and skirmishing is a viable tactic and strategy with lots more fun.

    People might not like having to ride a horse to get to a fight when they're used to rezzing a hop and a skip away, but they'll soon adapt. Until then, travel in groups. Most gankers operate in no more than pairs or trios and don't like to hit larger groups. Make sure to stay together, even making sure to ride at the same pace if you're with random friendlies. You might still be ganked, but there's a smaller chance and also the opportunity to be rezzed by your allies.

    You have people rez you , granted most people are not used to rezing players,

    those of us who played RvR in other games Daoc, Warhammer etc understand the importance of rezing dead allies or having to run a long way back .

    Give it a few days and people will learn to start rezing since there are no forward camps.

    ^Yes. And also please give 1 soul gem for each mail you get from killing players.

    Yesterday I cleared my mail box. There was 91 mail was there and I only get 10 soul gems form that stockpile. It's nearly 1/10 ratio. Increase this, if you want ppl rez each others.

    I have a feeling ZOS removed it to implement the fix they mentioned, where you can only spawn at a camp if you die in its radius.
    Could be wrong, maybe they took it out for good, like they did with Mercenaries.

    That won't change anything. FC need to die and good riddens.

    I don't accept that.This game is as much mine as it is yours and there are many people who feel the way I do.

    I should be able to voice my opinions on the forums without ppl telling me to "just quit already".

    The fact that they're taking out/deleting core elements of the game in order to address abuse of game mechanics with out warning..no communication..no information on whether or not those mechanics will be reinstated tells me they've made way beyond the profit they needed to make off this game and now they're simply phoning it in from here on out.

    Adding a Cyrodiil buff to the horse speed would be a great addition to the game, and would have the advantage not to require forward camps anymore.

    However, one side effect of the forward camp removal is to grant keep defenders too many advantages. Indeed, it's too easy for the defenders to re-spawn inside the keep, giving them the opportunity to rush the attackers again and again. At a certain moment, the pressure is too high on the attackers, since they don't have a close re-spawn point to get back quickly on the front line. Yesterday in Cyrodiil I could see many examples of this new issue.

    Suggestions:
    The re-spawn rule inside a keep should be adjusted. Or transform the resource camps (farm, mine, lumber mills) into a re-spawn point for the attackers, but limited in range to the vicinity of the keep. Attackers would re-spawn inside the tower of the camp, so as to grant defenders the opportunity to push hard on the camp's flag.

    Zos currently have the technology/"code" to make it so you can't place a forward camp within another forward camp's radius... yet it's somehow a massive leap forward in technology/"code" to make it so players can only be rezzed within that radius!?

    Isn't that what patches and updates are for?

    I call bs.

    How only being rezzed within a fc's radius wasn't implemented from the get go is still beyond me...

    Checking if another camp is within a given radius is much less of a strain on the server than checking if the 200+ people fighting at a given keep are all dying within a forward camp's radius. ZOS has stated this much themselves.
