Blackwater Blade (EU) emp flipping?

EP had an emp that leveled out of the campaign this weekend (turned vr1 on a non-vet campaign), while dominating the map. The result of this historically is that campaign is left without emperor. I'm not 100% sure about the requirements for same faction to reclaim a new emp, but they should at least lose X amount of keeps first?

The interesting thing happening in BB just now is that EP didn't lose ANY keeps (they have the entire map), and yet a new red emp was crowned shortly after previous left. During previous emp's reign EP lost and retook Alessia&Roe, but not Ash&Ales, if this is of any useful info.

Am I missing something here? How is this happening. Is it an exploit, or some legitimate thing I'm unaware of?

I read somewhere around that the next in the line of succession is proclaimed usurper after some period of time automatically, i.e. no losing and retaking keep is needed.
On the other hand, since the only rightful emperor is British Marines, there is indeed something fishy with this new red so called emperor.

    That's Royal British Marines

Anyway, the swap to new emp did not happen 48 hours after previous left (which is claimed by some to be duration of grace period, if it exists), but rather 4-8 hours

These 48 hours or server restart were mentioned here:

Maybe these periods were changed to take into account the leveling-out that might happen on the non-veteran campaign.

I tried to serch the ingame help.
There is not even an entry for emperor...

    :(

I don't know were the 48 hours thing came from originally and wouldn't call anyone a lier, I just made the experience, that after the previous emperor left, the new one is crowned about 6 hours later but only some point at night/early morning. So that may be connected to the crowning on offtime/whatever just as well.

At the very least we can say it's nothing special, from what you describe.
