Limiting available skills to 2 x (5+1) rewards intelligence and skill. It also provides immeasurable variety in builds. How else would you propose ESO create a wide variety of builds with it's "play-how-you-want" approach?

Sorry, but saying it provides variety and supports Wplay how you want" is daft.

I can appreciate how the limited skills force us to think and plan ahead, I would prefer a few more abilities myself, but I can respect that viewpoint.

But not the variety arguement, there you lose respect. Allowing us to add a few more skills would increase the variety, not decrease it. I'm sorry but that aspect of your arguement needs work.

The only reason players want more slots is so toggle skills and summons won't take up a slot they would rather use for something else. Suck it up buttercup. The rest of us have the same limitation. If I want to use Radiant Magelight, it takes up a slot like everything else, and it works just fine for me and many other players.

It is the limitation of skill slots itself that creates the variety, not the number. You are haggling over 5 or 8 skill slots, that is not the point. It is the actual limitation that makes people choose and creates variety.

You are right however, mathematically there are more permutations with 8 skill slots than 5, but again that is not the point I was trying to make.

Ok, I got the point you were trying to make, that limiting us forces us to be intelligent about which skills we use, and forces us to evaluate what we are likely to encounter.

As I said, I can respect that opinion.

Yes. The 5 skill bar slot decision is terrible and fantastically limiting. Apparently there's about 300 skill points you can obtain in the game. And room to have 10 abilities. That's 290 passive abilities.

At what point is this a good idea?

    At every point ;)

Addons let you setup a few bars to make swapping faster if that helps.

How many fingers do you have?

I have 6, one for each skill and one for the ultimate.

Ok but if you use your 6th finger it's an exploit.

I would be happy if they fixed weapon swapping so you always could rely on it and if they really wanted to make my day do so the toogle buffs did not dissapere when swapping bar...

    [sarcasm]

Well, you see, the problem with having more skills available to a player is we'd have to think...

Right now all I have to do is press 1-2-3-4-5 in sequence. No brain power required at all. Every fight: 1-2-3-4-5... and sometimes I have to press "R". If I'm bored I can press the LMB.

It hurts when I have to press "R" because that engages my brain and I have to actually wake up when I'm playing.

    [/sarcasm]

Yeah, except that people are actually whining about having to think about their bar loadout instead of getting to use all their big, bad buffs at the same time.

And if anyone is pressing a repetitive sequence like that during a fight instead of using their abilities as the situation demands, then they're playing badly. Perhaps they should start using their brain for more than making sarcastic posts about non-existent playstyles.
