So I decided I should quit QQ about DKs and simply reroll one of my own. I will dedicate this thread to my experiences during both the level up process as well as my future PvP experiences. I’ll try to keep an open and subjective mind during this process documenting both Pros and Cons to really get a true picture if the DK is overpowered or not.
So here is part 1 – Character Creation
I decided to go with a Dark-elf to make the best use of the DKs fire-based DPS. Already by clicking DK as profession felt much better than when I chose any of my other alts professions. I already feel powerful and I haven’t even left the character creation page.
I start work on my appearance and notice no matter what I chose it looks much better than any of my other alts. Finally I urgently needs a Bio break so I just press Randomize and OMG the character looks exactly how I figure a DK should look: Short, grey skin, big ears and a smile that makes him look he just doesn’t have one extra pair of chromosomes but rather three.
I type in a 1337 name and hit create. Damn.. name already taken, I try another nice name, same story. I urgently needs to Bio break but want to finish my creation first. I try one more name and then another and another. Nothing works and a bio accident is about to happen. I quickly try a hint I got from the forum for DK tactics and hit my head on the keyboard two times. Viola Name accepted. I press create and runs to the best room in the house.
While doing my stuff I’m beginning to think there might be some truth to the rumors DK:s are overpowered. One click on Randomize and his entire appearance was just right, I remember creating my old Sorcerer I had to spend hours in character creation before I was happy and here it only took 1 second. Then the naming process, I tried using skills (verbal) and I’m sure one I learn to play the class skills would have mattered but as I was in a hurry I just face-rolled the keyboard and the tactic worked as a charm.
Finished, I went back to start my journey.
F***k on the character creation screen my new DK alt had already killed of my main and all my alts. Not only that but he also ate the play button and to show exactly how powerful he was he even zoomed in on himself. I was eager to try this bad-ass out so I immediately restarted my computer to see if I could get a new play button to pop up. For the first time in Eso I felt overwhelmed with excitement. I start the launcher and get back in character creation, the DK still zoomed in and no playbutton (and no main character or alts). Wow talk about power! I tried to talk some senses into the monster I just created, how many hours I put in my main and so on. He didn’t listen, just stood there in a zoomed in position.
So while waiting for CS to get back to me I figured this would be a good point to summarize and end part 1.
Pros
When you click the select DK button you feel like a god. A strange rush that otherwise can only be achieved through (some) chemical substances.
Easy character creation – Appearance. Literary a 1 click button skill needed.
Very strong character – Instantly killed off my VR14 main and several alts of various levels already in the character select screen. Too bad I was in the toilet and missed it. Must have been a good Lolz to see the lvl 1 DK take on my VR14 Sorc and beat him silly and then eat him..and the other chars.
Easy naming procedure – True facerolling
Cons
Nothing
Well maybe that his name is hard to pronounce..
Hmm…I kind of miss my other characters but the fact my new main seems stronger than them all already in character select screen makes the loss easy to live with.
Oh almost forgot, he ate the playbutton too so I cant login. That’s not something good. I hope it was just because he was newly hatched he did that, maybe he was really hungry. If this is some bad habit though it will for sure be annoying in the future.
Roundup part 1
The DK seems to have both Pros and Cons. However so far the Pros >> Cons. Cant wait til I get my playbutton back so I can feed him the blood from my enemies (and huge part of the local flora and fauna).
