Not to mention find the "lost chapters" and Legendary Motif. I love that things can be rare because it makes it feel real and lore friendly but... it's an insanely boring grind.

Maple isn't that expensive.

Only option is go back to the now empty crows wood get some gold and buy one for 10-12k

With the awesome skills to lower times for research. Researching the ninth trait should take 25 days and the 8th trait should take 20 days. And these stones need to be found a lot easier via refining the raw material. Just like every other crafting stone. Also.. how are we supposed to research the trait if we only get One item from the main quest? Which, isn't repeatable. I heard they are in the Dragonstar Arena in the last three levels. Is that true? That is very hard I'm scared to even try it on the hard mode.. I've only made it to the 5th level on the easy mode....
PVP players have access to them by buying them off other players. There seems to be no shortage of people in Craglorn trying to sell their nirncrux for around 12k each, which isn't that much considering how long a 9th trait will take to research, or how much you can turn around and sell the nirnhoned item for.
it's the new way MMOs work.
LAUNCH! MMO launches, getting to end game is very time consuming, enchanting very time consuming
BIG UPDATE 1 - Big content update happens - Things made easier, except new stuff is really hard.
BIG UPDATE 2 - Next content update happens -stuff from big update 1 is easier/less time consuming, etc rinse repeat.
just wait, the drop rates will increase soon, but then there will be a 10th!!!!(*^@^@* trait!!!

Without them, almost no one would bother completing those quests, just like very few people have completed the quests in Lower Craglorn (which are required to finish the Upper Craglorn quests, btw).
Anyway, it is the absurd rarity of the two types of Nirncrux stones that really boils my blood. There is absolutely no reason for this rarity. The drop rate for these stones within the harvested nodes is almost as low as the drop rate for the purple recipes before they were made more accessible several weeks back. I have harvested hundreds of nodes and have received one single stone. Prices for these stones are through the roof which is insane.
Not only that but during peak hours, the competition between players for the harvesting nodes is almost as intense as it was when bots were monopolizing the nodes many months ago. Why did ZOS need to create another situation like that one? Worst of all, a PVP player has no means whatsoever of obtaining these stones. Whose "bright" idea was this?
I dumped skill points in the hirelings for Blacksmithing, Clothing and Woodworking so they would gather items like these Nirncrux stones and send them to me. There is no reason why these stones cannot be sent by hirelings or obtained by refining materials. ZOS needs to change how these Nirncrux stones are obtained as the current methods are nonsensical to say the least.

You seem to think PVP players are gold rich when in fact most of them are gold poor, especially compared to the PVE crowd. Many PVP players spend what little gold they earn on potions, such as the Bugloss/Columbine/Mountain Flower tri-pot, which can sell for 10K+ a stack. Some players easily burn through a stack of these every night and earning 10K in PVP is no easy task.
Please, you get tons of gold items at the end of each campaign. We only get 1/week from weekly trial leaderboards.LonePirate wrote: »PVP players have access to them by buying them off other players. Let's say a nirncrux stone is worth 15k.Maotti_Nor wrote: »What is the deal with the whole give me the craft stone and i'll craft a nirnhoned item for 5k anyway?
