Keep bats as is, but increase the ult cost to around 250

    It's base cost is 275

The problem is not the cost of batswarm, it's the passive for stage 4 that gives 21% reduction. There are no sinifigant detriments to staying stage 4, so it is far to easy to maintain the reduction. All you have to do is absolutely nothing to maintain it. So by default, most vamps are running 21% reduction on all vamp skills. So the cost is low.

Put the reduction on stage 1, where you actually have to maintain it, and the "problem" would be solved.

Are you crazy, you realise that will mean those who use class skills will then be subject to the same rules as those who use weapons skills?

I don't think you thought this through.

Problem is, that you can use other abilities when Bat Swarm is active. Making it so you cannot use other abilities when Bat Swarm is active would fix it.

It would leave the ability powerful, but not OP.

Well it is summoning a swarm of bats, so you should still be able to attack. Much like DK's inferno. OP thing about it is that it hits a lot of people which in turns builds up ult points fast. Sensible thing to do is apply AOE cap to it like every other skill they've capped.

DK inferno isn't an ultimate and isn't as effective as batswarm. What would have been cool is the ultimate making you transform into a batswarm thus completely unable to cast anything, but immune to damage except AOE

I just got rid of vampirism. Its the best move Ive done. Its a suggestion, but you don't have to deal with fire trebs, oil pots, half as much anymore. It was the best move Ive made in a while and Ive enjoyed myself more. I still get hit with stupid 1100 batwings. After 1.5 that's not happening. Then you wonder, whats vamp for? Nothing. Not a damn thing. Its a self debuff that hurts you. It was all along.

Yup, vamp and WW should be fun enough to attract RPers to become one and not OP so it stays a niche playstyle

Bat swarm is pretty easy to escape from, just roll away. The only issue with them using mist form is that you can't roll away and then shoot them with a bow.

I agree with you it is easy to avoid but during their ult they can use MF to escape damage and as soon as it's up they can use it again to get away. Sorcs can do this with Bolt Escape too.
    Yet Sorcs are targetable.

It's real simple, make Pulsar a sorc class ability rather than a destro staff ability...problem solved.

Because Devouring Swarm by itself isn't the problem, it's mostly vampire DKs using the Talons + DS + Pulsar combo that destroys groups.

It'd not fix the situation. There are groups of vamp sorcs who are still dangerous and they'd keep pulsar after your "fix". They are the 2nd best "solution", so if you remove DKs this will just become the 1st best solution.

Bat swarm yes you can roll out of it, and I often do only to find they are moving in my direction, problem with bat swarm and rolling out of it, is that it is not a stationary special, it moves it chases you several people swarming at one time, bat's a flying impulse a booming, playing heads up can keep you out of the swarm most of the time, just like moving out of the way of the impulse train, I think when you bat swarm that is all you should be able to do, not be able to place an oil pot, use your staff, just swarm and run around, seems good enough to me.
People can defend bat swarm all they want but just because so many people use it is perceived as powerful maybe op, all my years of mmo play, players have a tendency to gravitate to those kind of things.

Situational awareness can help, knowing what's going on around you can help avoid these things some of the time. :)
