Armor and weapon sets and factions?

I finally found the Earth Forge and my wondering about how people got complete sets of armor was answered.

But, there is only ONE set available there it seems.
There are many different armor sets I see when I pick up a random piece of gear.

Are there other forges available to AD? How do we get different armor sets?
This one seems particularly wimpy. Not sure it's worth the bother to learn the traits ( although I would have to learn them to do some other armor / weapon set I'm sure ).

Wish I had known how important traits were. I would have been working hard on them long ago in preparation.

I think it takes way too long to research many of the traits.

I see no logical reason it should take longer and longer to research the next armor set.

It appears that by the time we get to the last trait it takes over a month to research that trait.

That's bogus as hell.

A trait is a trait is a trait and it should take the same amount of time to learn ANY trait.
If I wanted a Signature I would have a Signature --- but i don't want one so I don't have one.

There are Dropped Sets and Crated Sets. Dropped are only found as loot and can take some time and grinding to find all the pieces. I also tend to level past the gear before I find a complete set, but others find the pieces. You can also pick them up in Guild Stores if you can't find one or two pieces. Shop around as the prices on these vary.

The Crafted Set stations are repeated in each Alliance (other than the ones for the Fighter and Mages Guild, and then there are some in Coldharbor and Craglorn)

Yep, researching traits is a time sink. The good thing is, you only need 2 to 6 traits to make the best sets in the game. Further, there are 2 to 4 trait sets that people still use at VR14. So, you don't need to research every trait to have an effective armor set. The passive that speeds up research and how many you can research at time really help with the time needed.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    Nevermind :(

I got to thinking ( ouch that hurts ) and realized I had been to other crafting station in various caverns and wondered if perhaps I had overlooked the possibility of making armor sets there.

    STOOPID STOOPID ME.

    I < did > over look that.

I could have been making armor sets for a long time.

First place i went there was a better set than that at Earth Forge.

Now I need to revisit these remote crafting stations, if I can remember where the heck they are.
