Siege Weapons Unresponsive

Sometimes, I place a siege weapon (Ballista, etc.) and I do not activate it. It becomes a useless prop that can't be used. Seconds later, it collapses. This is from weapons that should have plenty of life in them. It just wastes them. Any idea how to avoid this?

Gedalya✭✭✭✭✭I've been having the exact same problem; please note if you are reading this that my response is two months since the thread started.
I've lost multiple Siege Weapons through no fault of my own; I place it and it becomes completely unusable. I might understand this if the weapon already had nearly 0% health (from having been used); but I have no reason to believe this to be the case.

Buddheia✭✭✭This happened to me as well just now on Thornblade EU. Placed a full health ballista and could not activate it... Now I can't place any siege, it just makes this "thump" sound (but it's not over siege limit)0
