Zubba you're fine. It's nova shadow who's wrong. Just because the gate has been closed for three hours does not mean you're safe.
Does AD forget that dc has players determined enough to stay at a single outpost for 12 hours? Three hours behind a gate is chump change.
No Mercy has personally sat 12 people behind a gate for one hour, just to steal a scroll.
News flash AD, If your gate opens, you should run a rescue search style sweep through the entire behind the gate area for any stragglers. There's a boatload of determined DC that have the tenacity to wait hours.

It only took about 10-15 minutes for the AD at Haderus Altadoon to get bored and wander off. No sweeps of the area were seen, nothing.
Ultimate in laziness it seems. We flattened the temple and took that scroll home with almost no resistance because they wanted those phat APs at Bloodmayne.
