Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – April 8, 9:00AM EDT (13:00 UTC) - 6:00PM EDT (22:00 UTC)
We are currently investigating connection issues some players are having on the European megaservers. We will update as new information becomes available.

Why has it been 3 months since the last AUA update here on the ESO site?

    Hey folks,

We're working on a few new programs that are built around answering your questions in a more live environment. Not quite ready to roll them out yet, but in the meantime, what would you like to see?

    I have a question:
Can we look forward to changing our characters voice via paying a gold price in game and/or can we look forward to more voice options available to us in character creation in the future? I regret my voice choice for my character.

Do you have the bug where your male imperial has a woman's voice while riding the horse? I have that :'(

    that is an awesome bug.

if that was the kind of bugs I was getting, I would be fine.
Dear Sister, I do not spread rumors, I create them.

Ya know... It bothers me when I think about all the time I spent in character creation but I'm actually quite fine with it when evaluating how many other things need fixes. :D I'd rather see other things addressed first.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom‌, there are a great number of questions people are asking over and over again in the forums, it would be nice to have an official communication on the subjects like an official thread or FAQ where most common questions are answered so we can just link them once and for all to people that keep making posts. Among those:

    - Are there more changes coming to NBs? Do you feel the changes where enough?
    - Is there an ETA on fixing Stamina builds? What are the steps already taken and the ones that are being taken to fix them?
    - Why have most maintenances been skipped when the server's health is extremely poor?
    - Will ZOS ever fix/reimplement stuff to their UI like in early beta or will we always have to rely on add-ons whose creators end up abandoning the game?
    - When will Loyalty rewards kick in?

Even if some answers are given inside of one of the hundreds of posts, would be a nice idea to have them in an FAQ so they can be found quickly...

Well there's an easy answer to why you haven't seen communication on most of those questions: you haven't been looking.

    - Nightblade changes already came, and the class is pretty well balanced. Stamina is the last major thing that needs tweaking at this point.
    - No, and asking repeatedly isn't going to yield a different answer. But if you noticed, stamina caught up quite a bit in 1.3 after the weapon damage soft cap was increased. There are still tweaks needed, but that small change actually did a lot.
    - They're preparing for 1.4, and they don't have to justify keeping the servers up and running.
    - The UI isn't broken.
    - September. So sometime in the next 21 days.

See, this is why ZO doesn't directly answer most people's questions on the forums, and it's why I don't blame them in the least. The questions are always redundant, highly aggressive, and they're often completely rhetorical. I mean, do people really expect that asking about stamina fixes for the 100th time is suddenly going to yield a time window?

Pretending that ZO doesn't listen to players is absolutely ludicrous. They have changed/are changing huge things about this game to respond to player criticisms (not always with good results- i.e. VR difficulty). They've done nothing but listen and respond to the players since beta. Just because they haven't changed the game to suit your specific tastes doesn't mean they owe you an apology/explanation.

If you're indeed asking about the format of the "answer" posts--

I understand you don't want to get into a flame war/endless series of followup questions. That kind of thing can make a simple answer into a huge chore and rapidly erode any enthusiasm for the whole idea.

So... I would be fine with a closed thread--you state the questions, give the answers, with no expectation of getting into a long drawn out sure-to-get-nasty thread. If follow-up questions come up (they will) they can be addressed next time. That would be enough for me to know that you're listening.

As to where the questions come from--a user vote would not be workable--you WOULD get the same things over and over. I'd trust you to just pick them from things that have popped up, with a variety of serious issues and smaller ones in the mix. Avoiding repetition and going for specificity over generalizations in both the answers and the questions you choose to tackle.

I would love more feedback and interaction from ZoS. As has been mentioned somewhere else they must have some sort of weird 'anti-engagement with players' rule.

Thanks for joining the discussion, @ZOS_JessicaFolsom. I think a once a month public AUA page like the one I linked would be a good start. These pages are public facing so the questions could be more generic so as to appeal to both new and existing players.

In addition to that, I think there should be a weekly stickied post on the forums where ZOS answers 5-10 questions/issues posted on the forums or via the in game /bug, /feedback and /help options. The items could range from "how do I do xxxxx" to "what's the difference between weapon crit % and weapon crit damage" to "why hasn't this bug been fixed yet" types of questions.

I know timetables are amorphous in the software industry so instead of focusing on them and the inevitable questions about when such and such feature will be available, how about addressing the hot button player issues and removing some of the mystery within the game, such as how the Divines trait actually works? Basically, subscribers want some basic communication and the belief that ZOS listens to and cares about them.

I like the last suggestion where they actually explain existing mechanics and give you technical details, that would be super cool. In general anything of the above nature would be appreciated, I always enjoy reading any post by you guys (Zeni) to see what's going on.

I appreciate your and other staff members' efforts to provide new methods to answer our questions. I think it'll be an uphill battle that hasn't been helped by the fact that historically, new information is announced elsewhere first and by the time it reaches the forums it's old news. And you're hosting official events on Reddit, which is a known hostile environment for pretty much anyone who isn't a white male heterosexual.

That being said, would you consider hosting some user events like live weekly topic-specific q and a sessions through this forum? Will the forum software support a moderated chat where we can submit questions for a moderator to include if it meets the topic being discussed?

I would like to see drop gear from Trials be more valuable than crafted gear, and I would like to see that dropped gear have better stats than the crafted gear.

I agree that crafters should have an important role to play, but they need to not be making the best PvE gear, that needs to come from the PvE "End Game" for ESO, which seems to be Trials.

Also, please make the Trials fights more of a challenge instead of the face rolls they are right now.

I think crafted gear should have better stats than trials gear, it takes longer to level up crafting than it does to do a trial.

We've started incorporating developer Q&As into the ESO Live show every other Friday, along with doing discipline-focused Reddit AMAs, and also getting more developers to post here on our official forums (possibly more game-centric AMAs here as well). We felt that more live question and answer opportunities would be better. Would you all prefer we bring back the traditional AUA?

We believe in getting out there and engaging with our community where they are, with the lion's share of our time and effort spent on our official forums, of course. Not everyone comes to these forums, so we do our best to branch out, engage and answer questions where we can. The occasional Reddit AMAs we do are more discipline based (as in 'What does the art team do at ZOS?') whereas our efforts here get into more detailed and current game info and updates.

Our efforts to engage ESO fans where they are on the internet will continue, but we are always open and receptive to constructive suggestions about what you'd like to see and hear about.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom I think once all of those actions are in full swing, the issue at hand will largely disappear. These slow start-up procedures are just annoying.

I might also recommend having someone - not necessarily a dev but someone with knowledge and official capacity - regularly address player questions, issues and concerns that are raised here on the forums.

I have lost count of the number of topics focused on a player question or issue which ultimately become rhetorical because no one from ZOS provides any clarity. Sure, there are plenty of topics here which don't need any official feedback; but the ones that do need feedback are ignored in such a volume that it seems deliberate and is exceptionally unfriendly, if not disrespectful towards the game's customers.

The top two objectives of these forums should be for players to engage with each other and for players and ZOS to engage with each other. The forums are wildly successful at the former while being woefully disappointing at the latter. Instead of adopting a corporate PR stance of silence, the forums should be an venue for ZOS to interact and converse with players. That will increase player satisfaction which ultimately increases the bottom line for ZOS.

To some extent this is already happening. Many Devs have been coming to the forums and answering our questions. More so than they did a month or two ago. Which is a great start, I would like to see a bit more engagement on their part, but that said, ZOS Devs interact with this community more than any other company I have seen (that is in the marked as a Triple A).

What if ZOS implemented a feature to the forums along the lines of the "Agree", "Insightful", "Awesome" buttons that read "Question To Dev" (Or something similar). If enough people hit that button it would get flagged on the Moderators/Admins end and would stand out more than the regular posts do. Now of course, the number would have to be relatively high, to prevent players from spamming it just to get a Dev to reply.

Something like this isn't hard to code, especially on these forums as they already have a large portion of the code implemented.

This feature would allow the community to in a way vote on what is important and what they would like answers to.

I've always suspected that the community team was spread too thin over all possible venues. Now that we know the current standard we all are experiencing here does indeed take the lion's share of their efforts, I am certain of it.

I strongly suggest forming dedicated teams for this forum, social media and fansites. This would help a lot with getting to know each other, having "goto gals'n'guys" for every group and people will feel more appreciated and cared about by ZOS, without risking that any group might feel neglected. Which still is the case here.

I can see an increased effort in forum participation and community building, it is however not on a regular basis and reliable. We always seem to get information in bursts, followed by long periods of silence. Probably because attention has to be drawn to other places in the meantime. Sadly, this is usually long enough to let topics turn toxic or even to be abandoned out of frustration.

When I see CSR and Dev(s) participating, it's pretty much what I'd want to see here. Having dedicated teams should help with delivering this constantly and adressing any issues and questions in a timely manner.

Good question. How about something like summit you had recently, but on this forum? It would take much longer than summit of course, but a few simple thoughts or answers from officials would go a long way.
We've all seen numerous posts from your side where you say you read everything we write in here and we believe you. Now we need you to start communicating to us as well.
