Would you like to see more "Wer"s (Transformations) soon, sooner or in the future?

Hi guys,

as I mentioned to @LawrenceSchick at the Guild Summit 2014 in Maryland, I would like to see more "Wer"s (Transformations) in the next time. At the moment, werewolf and vampire is implemented in the game.

It doesn't matter if they would come soon, "sooner" or in the near future, but I would be very happy to see them anyway!

I know, that it's very hard to design that with all the animations, new skilllines, a.s.o. but it would be a very nice feature!

So I would like to start a poll to find out, which "Wer"s you would like most!

I prefer a Wer-Slaughterfisch!

Yes, I mean other transformations like "Wer"wolf and Vampire.

Edit: I edited my first post and wrote that clearly know (hope so). Sorry for the misunderstanding ;)

Vampires don't transform, but it would be interesting. Turn in vampire's lors or something like this. About wild animals - I can't imagine this. Why animals should transform? Or you mean players transform in fish, bird, bear and so on?

it's Were, (lycanthrope) and bear, boar & others are mentioned in the lore, or exist as monsters in the series (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Bestiary_W)

But I'm not sure that creating all the animations and skills to balance is the best use of time at present, but I'd be interested in both Bear & boar beserkers :-D

It's Vampire Lords that transform, & there is at least one (NPC monster) in the game at present that does.

Oh, in that case I don't think it fits the lore. Maybe once or twice in some quests, but not as a skill.

He's referring to other forms of Lycanthropy (or were-creatures) besides werewolves to be available to players via World Skill lines.

As far as I know, werewolves and vampires are the only mutation afflictions that have been available to TES players. I may be biased as I've never been a werewolf or vampire (also have never joined the Dark Brotherhood) in any TES game, but the two of these (if they were implemented perfectly) should impart ample spine chilling epicness for those cursed as well as those, friend and foe, who look upon them.

Adding a manbeast skin for every creature in the game seems rather unnecessary when you already have 10 races to choose from, including feline and reptilian humanoids.

I would like to see Monster Play, like in LOTRO; or even dedicated monster characters. That is about as close to your "Wer" concept as I can imagine; as I think there is a distinctly limited number of "Wer" concepts that exist in the ES universe (otherwise you would have listed a few).

I can see where the additional "Were" forms (Bear, Boar, Cat and Rat) could add a dimension to the game, but having read all the posts on the issues with the current Werewolves would the additional forms just add more issues and little value. Additionally, the skill lines associated with Werebear (Tank), Wereboar (berserker), Werecat (Spy/Assassin) and Wererat (Thief) may not fit as well with how the story runs.
Of all the things I have lost, I miss my mind the most...

I like the idea in a general to had the ability to morph into a cat or a rat (or something similar); I do not think it should come with a skill line in those cases. In fact both those examples seem like something that would be a nice touch for Sorcerers; in one of the Skill Lines have the ability to change into a small animal which would have stealth qualities for the simple fact that a cat running by isn't likely to arose curiosity from mobs.

Well, werebears and wereboars have been in previous Elder Scrolls games. (Skyrim and Daggerfall respectively.) Wereboars were supposed to be playable, but apparently there was a bug so if the player was infected by one they'd turn into a werewolf. Weresharks have been mentioned occasionally in the series. And, of course, there are Werebats in Greenshade, so they've already started sneaking into the game to mess with you.

Thing is, Elder Scrolls is kinda a goofy setting. It's at it's best when it embraces that.

You're fighting a dolmen, and then one of the players starts spazing out, grunting, contorting... and shrinking!? They shrink down to a tiny crab and get eaten by a daedroth who celebrates by setting everyone on fire.

No thanks. I don't personally do vampirism or lycanthropy in my gameplay, but they're both part of TES lore and, as such, I fully understand other players having fun with them.

As for zombies, 99% of the lore that I've seen on them indicates that there's no coming back from being a zombie. The idea of people transforming into a walking, maggot-infested heap of dead flesh and then back to normal doesn't make sense to me at all.

As for other types of wer transformations, they're not a part of known TES lore and thus would no doubt be unappealing to a lot of players, in my view.

All of these other were-creatures are weaker than Werewolves though aren't they?
Thought Hircine's best hunters were Werewolves.

Suppose they could be included with weaker skills and less passive benefits and still fit lore.

    Confusing post OP.

Lets start with , i dont see much point in having any other "were" in the game , werewolf is enough for me. No need for weretiger or werebear.

But i wouldnt mind they adding more skill trees like vampire/werewolf , maybe lich for example.

But a lich and a zombie (or vampire) arent "were" anything , they arent becoming humanoid animal forms.
