What does this mean for tanks and healers trying to level up in the various Craglorn grinds? When grouped, players with a Veteran Rank more than five ranks lower than other group members must now contribute sufficient damage to enemies to receive XP or loot from them.

Since you can get to VR10 with Caldwells Quests, then this won't apply at all to anyone grinding out the last 4 levels. Unless you skip Caldwells quests that is.
I think we are posting a cross purposes, if the ranks are easier to obtain then the amount of grinding or questing will reduce, no?
The only nerf to grinding is that you can't be grouped with a guy 5 levels above you and not do any damage to the mob?
I don't see that a really bad, that's just discouraging leeching

Oh ok. If that's all then no problem. I read the original comment as if the lower level VR would have to try and compete with the higher VRs on damage/healing output, which would be pretty hard to do. I misinterpreted it then.
But, again, what about tanks and healers?OrangeTheCat wrote: »The only nerf to grinding is that you can't be grouped with a guy 5 levels above you and not do any damage to the mob?

Yeah. If you have a VR1, either make sure you are dealing your share of damage or be sure to be in a group where nobody is above VR6. I think both of those sound feasible.

I noticed this as well when I was healing for a group doing Craglorn quests. healing was getting me next to nothing in XP. If I did a fair amount of damage to the mob I was getting much much more. This is very broken and needs fixing asap. This was an issue right after release and they fixed it. It needs fixing again. It doesn't matter for healers and tanks because you get so few xp for killing mobs, including bosses, now that it's not worth the trouble.
