Terrible Tooltips

Why, this far into release, do we still have terrible tooltips on so many spells? They need to be clear and provide as much detail as possible without becoming incomprehensible.

Here's a quick list of Templar ones that bother me:

Nova - No listed synergy damage. No listed stun length. A morph adds damage to the synergy. How much? Hell if I know.

Purifying Light - No radius listed on the secondary effect. Big problem, seeing as the radius on this morph is abysmal, effectively rendering the morph useless.

Rune Focus - No radius listed. Useful in some cases, but the radius is small and may make the spell not ideal for a lot of people. It helps to know the radius before spending the skill point.

General issues with tooltips:

Lack of a radius listing on far more spells than those I listed.

Lack of damage listed on some spells.

Projectile spells with travel time are not listed as such.

Some are so poorly worded, it is hard to tell what they mean.

(not as important) No indication for new players as to what stats the spell scales off of.

    There should be a UI option to turn on detailed tooltips. That way, the people who care about all the of the numbers associated with skills can see them, and the people who don't care or would get confused can keep it off.

    I also think tooltips need to have a list of keywords. For example, what counts as a projectile? Mage's Fury does, for example, even though it looks like lighting. Which spells count as fire damage? There are many more examples like this. So at the end of the description of the spell, there should be a list of keywords that make it clear that this is a projectile. The list could just be like this:

    Keywords: Spell; projectile; lightning damage.
    Templars are 'just slower... by design'

    Can you clarify a bit on the above quoted section of your post? It implies Magicka abilities currently are not all scaling in the same manner but I'm not sure if you mean Skill A gets twice the additional damage of Skill B when you go from 2000 to 22000 Magicka or if you are talking about the combination of magicka/spell power.

    Finally someone bring this up and I am really looking forward to the incoming review of the skill tooltips and statistics. This to me is one of the best and most anticipated features from the guild summit.

    I've been impressed with the stuff I read about the Guild Summit, and now this further impresses me. Seems we have a lot of goodies to look forward to. Thanks for the info!

    I just don't know what the lag is with updating tool-tip accuracy, it's simply a text editing operation. This should be able to go from idea to implementation within a week (tops).
