Of course, the video folks never post the footage of them getting rolled 3vs1 in their favor. I'm still waiting on someone to post honest videos and not just highlights of them fighting pugs.

It's called a montage. You know.. The ones where you post highlights and stuff.
And just for the record. I'm not trying to flaunt, but I have never lost a 1v1 in open world pvp (not talking about duels) ever since I've hit v12.
So there is no way I can show you a video of me losing a 1v1 (in open world) because it has never happened since I hit v12.
I've streamed close to a hundred hours of live pvp on twitch by now. My viewers have never seen me lose a 1v1 encounter in open world pvp.
So if you think I would get "rolled" in a situation where I outnumber the opponent 3 to 1, then you are sadly mistaken

good good, sounds like they're going to have all their resources in the right placesSypherpkub17_ESO wrote: »xsorusb14_ESO wrote: »For the record sypher..Dark Age of Camelot was made with 3 Million.
They got 2.2 million from Kickstarter, and Mark Jacobs and hits friends put in another 5 or 6 million I believe.
Since their game isn't going to have PvE they can cut out a lot of the crap that normally cost a ton of money.
That's good to know. PvP development is usually a lot cheaper because it's the players who create the enjoyable experience for themselves.
Devs can work for months on a quest that PVE players will finish in 1 day and be done. But if they add something as simple as dueling a friend or a new pvp objective, we can have fun for months before getting bored.
right, but it might not be the shangri-la for everyone. since i know they're very against having any arena type system in the game (a setup instanced grp v grp or 1v1 area)
but i still think it'll be greati hope ZOS never implements them either
b/c it takes resources away from AvA...they have enough trouble supporting it, they don't need to add another format to ignore. it'll also dwindle cyrodiil's population even further....no ty.mike.gaziotisb16_ESO wrote: »good good, sounds like they're going to have all their resources in the right placesSypherpkub17_ESO wrote: »xsorusb14_ESO wrote: »For the record sypher..Dark Age of Camelot was made with 3 Million.

I'm not sure why you guys think that Arena would be so disastrous for Cyrodiil?
There are already duelling guilds in EU and NA with loads of duels taking place every day. There is no side effect on AvAvA because of this.
The only thing they have to be careful about is rewards. Have maybe a leader board and tournaments (for pride) but no money or AP rewards. Sorted. Almost all duelist I know, love to play the AvA side of PvP too and will be doing that for the majority of their time.
And as far as the issues that may arise about class imbalance etc, the duelling community actually believes classes are fairly (ofc not fully) balanced. The cries come mostly from people who either don't know their classes or select to play certain builds which have limitations and then come here to moan about it. These guys will always moan, as they currently do, the existence of an Arena or not will not change this.

still no. any time they have now, or in the future, should be spent improving the pvp system they have, because there is so much to improve. i'd be fine with them adding a simple "arena" to the imperial city which is just a location 2 people can fight without interruption. but no leaderboards, no ranking system, no rewards, nothing. literally just an instanced place you can invite one other person to fight you in. that would at least be nice for trying out new stuff, where all the variables are already removed.mike.gaziotisb16_ESO wrote: »b/c it takes resources away from AvA...they have enough trouble supporting it, they don't need to add another format to ignore. it'll also dwindle cyrodiil's population even further....no ty.mike.gaziotisb16_ESO wrote: »good good, sounds like they're going to have all their resources in the right placesSypherpkub17_ESO wrote: »xsorusb14_ESO wrote: »For the record sypher..Dark Age of Camelot was made with 3 Million.

I understand what you're saying about resources. I agree that fixes for Cyrodiil should, of course, be a priority before any time or money is spent in other PvP endeavours.
However, the only reason the PvP population is dwindling is because Cyrodiil has been a broken mess for the majority of the time since release. From the 0 cost and dmg stacking of the vamp ulti, to Caltrops, to FPS bug, to constant crashes.
I don't believe duellists will abandon AvA if it's working, most love what it could be. In fact, I believe it'd bring more people to the game and to AvA PvP . Population-wise in Cyro, I think it'd cause an increase not a drop. Also everyone agrees the focus should be on fixes to problems and changes to AvA mechanics for the foreseeable months.
We don't want Arena now, not while AvA is a mess. We'd just like to know that it's something they'll do at some point when PvP becomes more stable.

News flash: the skill cap ceiling in this game is extremely low, and any half decent player will have smashed their head into the ceiling long ago. All that's left is theory crafting builds to gain an edge.
And, I care a little about the alliance war. You know, the whole reason for pvping. So I'd prefer not giving my enemies my build so all their DKs can tank 30+ as well.

This.
A lot of players work hard to theory up an awesome build. The decision to share it or not with the public is entirely up to them.
A little unpredictability here and there spices things up.

Dude, there's only about 6 different sets for magicka users:
Warlock
Seducer
Magnus
Willow's Path
Arch-Mage
Spectre's Eye
It's gotta be one (or 2) of them....I think

Sure if I had some form of useful AOE I'd go down in a *blaze* of glory. Sorcs can't do that however. We have the weakest PvP DPS in the game by a large margin. The majority of good players are stacking harness magicka and shields and then there are templar eclipse spammers and DK reflective scales. It really makes the traditional sorc damage role difficult. The only saving grace is our survivability and mobility which stem from Bolt Escape.
