7 hours of recorded Sorc and NB fleeing.

I was compiling a pvp video from all my recorded vids and after long hours of reviewing them i noticed something very funny.... i have about 7 total hours of cyrodiil pvp where failed ganking by Sorcs and Nb's end up in them bolts escaping and disapearing. Did you know that in video game design there is a course on counterplay? The rules are simple, if player A. does somethign to player B, then player B should have a reasonable window to return fire to him. This counterplay system prevents someone from trying to kill you, failing, and then leaving without you having any reasonable counterfire.

I believe, and i know this sounds ugly but...the reason we have these kind of problems is because a team of fledging designers attempted to create a system of no-cooldowns without any basis/precedence from other games or experience to make it work. Cooldowns is in the counterplay course and teaches that a player has to commit to the actions he takes and then wait for a cooldown(the time his victim has to respond to his attacks). Im not promoting cooldowns but the lesson is in the course.

Now im not so sure i want to make a pvp video, but instead 7 hours of fleeing.

    Let me guess, DK?

lol I thought the exact same thing!

Right now a night blade can take pot shots at you and try to kill you and in return you get the reward of having survived because he isnt going to stick around if you lived....that would actually mean you can kill him. Same with Sorc. The rules of counterplay are ignored and instead you get a magelight nerf so that only one person can see the hidden guy....that worked out really well last night where my friends on ts are likew tf are you talking about i dont see him...oh yeah thats because only i can.

    I stopped reading here.

Not being skilled enough to engage a sorc/NB after they open up on you is not the same thing as the game not being designed to allow it.

    Nuff said.

Im just curios. How exactly do you deal with a sorc teleporting away. You sound so awesome at this game. You're probably better than everyone.

Well you dont die, thats success! ......

I tried making a PVP video as well. I had a different issue. I was basically the Peyton Manning of Cyrodiil. I would be dominating people left and right, but as soon as I flipped Fraps on, it was like I was in the super bowl and lost 43 to 8.

This actually makes sense, though. You're the one with the spell.

Throw damage his way, any damage, and the hypnotic spell will be broken with the exposed NB in the middle of your pals with an embarrassed "This isn't going to end well for me" look on his face.

And don't overestimate the 'rules' of counterplay. I was healing at a Forward camp with 20 group members nearby when a NB started chopping away right in the middle as everyone else just kinda stood there and watched.

"There are no rules in War." Sadly, I think this applies to your Allies part of the time, as well.

True, but not every class can stealth as well and most other classes are not going to have the stamina pool to use it as effectively.

(Guess you'd call this the counter-stamina-build argument.)

Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

My video is still being edited. I get a lot of hate pms that need to be filtered out, otherwise it will be removed from forum. I have a really funny one about an Ep Dk making fun of me in a pm for trying to stop a zerg by myself at a breached keep. He finished by saying "anytime anyplace you noob blazing shield spammer and ill still wreck you". Well turned out i saw him a couple days later and he was with his girlfriend who was healing him the entire fight. I still killed him and his girl. I could have teabagged them both or done pushups on their bodies but im a Templar, i just rp walked away. Ill post it as soon as im not procrastinating. Dk and Templar fights are the best because their is no flee....just hard fighting "2 man enter 1 man leave"

NBs and sorcs are always running from you?
Feel like you need more than a shower to counter your bodily perspiration? ;-)
But pls don't nerf my Cloak, the day it will reliably work in PvP it might actually alllow me to catch some breath and reposition midfight. Not my fault all those bow guys go the easy way.

Proves you only need to find the right kind of enemy in Cyrodiil to go 1 vs 3
Yeah, unfortunately an NB vs DK fight usually means one guy runs :-)
