So Azura's Star

I'm really not sure as to why people would rather complain at Zenimax for their inability to maintain a stable server with pop lock on all three factions when they introduced an entire new 30 day campaign to hopefully have people move over there and relieve the stress that everyone is putting on Thornblade.

It baffles me that people would rather wait in a queue and deal with these disconnects and crashes instead of moving to Azura's Star and creating another fun campaign that is competitive without server lag or the fear of getting stuck in queue. All I'm seeing is a bunch of QQ when Zenimax has offered a solution with 1.4 in a new 30 day.

Are there any guilds out there that would move to AS after this rotation of Thornblade ends in order to ensure pvp without needing to wait hours in a queue?

    I'm thinking that might be a part of it as well. Though I'm wondering how much longer people are going to be putting up with the server crashes and lag fest that is known as Thornblade.

    Zenimax implemented a very good plan for solving the lag on their end by introducing this new 30 day campaign which would spread out the player base a bit more. However that plan can only go into effect once people spread themselves apart from Thornblade. So until they (the players) realize that the only immediate fix that they're going to get is switch campaigns (not everyone of course, but a decent number of guilds from each faction), then we will be able to have competitive play on 2 servers and only have to worry about the buff servers and guesting problems that NM and EG created which resulted in the death of Chillrend.

    Although if we're going to do this blaming thing then we really have to go all the way back to 1.3 where all the OG campaigns were done away with (back when there were 2 or 3 active and healthy campaigns) and Zeni decided to implement these weird rotation of campaigns. If anything they should just go back to the old days where we had 8 campaigns to choose from and have them the same amount of days. Then I could go back to Dawnbreaker and enjoy that as it was a really fun and healthy campaign when I was playing it.

    But in all seriousness I hope people are just waiting to cash in on the end of campaign rewards that are coming up in a week and then go and flip over to Azura's Star because when it was first announced there was a lot of hype over it and all I'm seeing is a bunch of the same people who hyped it now coming on the forums and just complaining and flaming at Zenimax to fix a problem that they've already laid a temporary solution for.

    TLDR: GO AND PLAY ON AZURA'S STAR INSTEAD OF COMPLAINING AT ZENIMAX!!!

    But seriously, people bawled and squalled. They still bawl and squall complaining that Chillrend is dead when it was the second highest pop-locked server. Now everyone's whining because it's dead and DC has it to themselves.

    Stop whining and DO something.

    For a long while EP on Had gave up on the notion of holding anything more than their gate. Heck that even seemed impossible sometimes. But now you have the die-hards skilling up, gearing up, getting strong enough to match the xploiters and 24-hr hardcases that pitch a fit if a single resource node (which don't give points anymore nor contribute to overall score...). We might not be able to take the inner ring, but what we do take we can hold for a long time until increasingly higher numbers of zerglings arrive for us to farm for points.

    It's a feeling of immense satisfaction when you're able to turn the tables on that one person you dreaded facing, the guy who ganked you almost nonstop until you got good enough and now the kill ratio is reversed.

    This is a player driven game above all else. It needs the players to do something. If you think the game is going to play itself you're just going to end up like that guy who thought he could walk away from the steering wheel of his RV to go make a cup of coffee and assumed it'd keep driving itself.

    NA...people are crying and moaning about how Thornblade is always a crash fest or is a huge lag fest at night and won't even bother with the new 30 day campaign that Zeni has offered them. They won't reduce the number of campaigns down already, that was their first mistake and they sure won't make Blackwater Blade and Thornblade the only two campaigns available to play on. What I still just don't understand is why some player bases won't relocate to Azura's Star so that they can get a full raid group instantly and don;t have to sit in queue for an hour or even more only to have it crash a half hour later.

    That was pretty much why my guild left Wabbajack back in the day and switched over to Dawnbreaker. We didn't want to sit in queues to wait for our raids to fill up and wanted to enjoy pvp instead of the wabba lag or wabba queue that was going on. The end result was Dawnbreaker becoming a popular but fun server that, while not pop locked 24/7, challenged Wabba every now and then for the most popular server spot.

    All I'm asking is that people do the exact same thing and move to Azura's Star. Organize some sort of player base server reset (where blue and red get everything back, emp is deposed, and start from scratch) and go from there. When Zenimax took down BoS and created AS they planned on people going there upon release to make that another competitive server. I just don't see why everyone refuses to utilize it and enjoy the game instead of putting themselves and everyone else in a situation where the game is literally unplayable from the PvP side.

    Well it sounds like Azura on EU, But here at peak time there's a lot of people about.

    The problem is, People cry like hell if they are losing, We had a zerg guild leave because i'm emporer.

    People will probably put up with the lag fests on thornblade until the end of the campaign, which is in a few days. Thats always when rapid switches take place.

    I was away from pvp for a couple of weeks catching up on the new pve stuff (blasphemy, I know!).

    When I finally got caught up and went back to cyrodiil, Thornblade was a triple pop-locked poop slide show.
    Yet, Azura's Star was empty, I don't get it.
    Zone chat was overflowing with QQ about lag and crashes but, did that stop them from overloading Thornblade? nope.

    esp after that fail "interview" with BWheeler, the natives were quite restless

    So if I can find anyone on DC who still pvps, maybe I can convince them to go over to AS with me.
    Unfortunately, the chances of finding anyone is getting slimmer by the day.

    Yeah I really don't get it. People are complaining about queue timers and lag crashes etc etc and yet they're the ones being hypocritical about it by putting up with it and expecting ZOS to do something about it when they've already implemented this new 30 day campaign as sort of a hot fix while they work on their server strength and all that stuff.

    Like I said I'm hoping that they're just waiting for the cycle to end and some of them will pack up and head over...but idk...the community seems kinda dumb if you ask me.

    People like action, and they like to win. Numbers seem to do it for both. So, everyone bunches up in one campaign.

    I suggest setting a maximun number for a campaign's queue when the population is maxed. Once this number--say 10-- is reached, you can't be placed in queue. Tell the player to try another campaign.

    This might encourage players to go to a different campaign to stir up trouble.

    The launch of Azura's star was just about the most clueless decision ZOS could make in reorganizing the campaigns.

    Any chance that the campaign could be well populated was destroyed by the new v14 level cap, which forced the PVP population back into PVE. Moreover, it did not coincide with a new campaign period on Thornblade. For that reason, Azura's Star just rapidly degenerated into another buff server.

    If the campaign had launched next week, there would have been a chance for a genuinely competitive campaign.

    Since the server is bugged, there no real point in blue or red trying, the scrolls are not obtainable.

    Fighting a DK Vamp Emp is not much fun either.
    WTB coder at ZOS who can "accidentally" buff silver shards again. Will pay same price I paid last time...

    By your logic it makes no sense to then try on Thornblade because the server crashes and resets scrolls every hour. At least on Azura's Star your wouldn't have this problem.

    You obviously haven't been to Azura, pushed another "team" back to their scroll temple, and then... "you cannot take this scroll because you do not own your own". They defended their two keeps, but didn't even turn up to the temple to defend, because they knew it was bugged.

    Each team had their scrolls in their home temples.

    So we cannot take blue or yellows scrolls, and they are the only way to increase score fast.

    Azura was wasted the moment it was turned into a buff server.

    I personally see no reason to switch to a new campaign even if it would help the performances, the latency and to reduce client / server crashes.

    I play this game to compete with the best organized groups and I don't want to switch to an empty campaign to pvedoor all day.

    Anyway, if one or two important guilds of a faction decide to migrate from Thornblade to Azura's Star, it will totally destroy the balance, the faction strength itself will be completely screwed on Thornblade for a few weeks until everyone else realize it and slowly switch to Azura's Star and then, Thornblade will turn into a ghost town exactly like Thornblade was at the end of 2.0 and exactly like Chillrend is right now.

    Once we start having more than 2-3 great organized guild per faction who can accomplish objectives successfully everyday, maybe having 2 different campaigns would make sense. Until that happens, if one or two guilds of the same faction switch to Azura's Star, it will completely kill their faction on Thornblade, then the players remaining will rejoin Azura's Star once they get bored of getting wrecked, and we will have the same problem transfered to the new 30days campaign.. lag, crashes, etc all over again.

    If you would rather pvdoor for a couple weeks on Azura's Star and claim that your group is skilled because they own the entire map without any pvp fights, go ahead.

    Personally I am patient enough to wait until they fix the latency, the performance and the crashes, and at least get into great fights and good competition.

    • Change emperorship to value faction score points and not alliance points - see this and this
    • Fix long loading screens (mostly caused by players joining group out of rendering range)
    • Add 2 more quickslots to the wheel or add a different wheel for sieges weaponry only
    • Fix Balista Bolts not dealing damage on walls or doors if deployed at a certain place
    • Release bigger battlegrounds with 8 to 16 players per team and only two teams
    • Fix the permanent block animation - see examples : link1 link2 link3 link4 link5
    • Gives players 10 minutes to get back into Cyrodiil after relogging / crashing
    • Add a function to ignore the Claiming system of useless rewards
    • Improve the Mailing System / Rewards of the Worthy stacking
    • Assign specific group sizes to specific campaigns (24-16-8)
    • Make forward camps impossible to place near objectives
    • Make snares only available from ground effects abilities
    • Change emperorship to last minimum 24hours
    • Fix body sliding after cc breaking too quickly
    • Remove Block Casting through Battle Spirit
    • Fix the speed drop while jumping - see video
    • Fix loading screens when keeps upgrade
    • Fix Rams going crazy (spinning around)
    • Bring back dynamic ulti regeneration

    I would like to see said DC morning cappers. Protip: Yellow and Red have more presence around the clock than DC does ;)

    • Fix crashes when approaching a keep under attack because of bad / wrong rendering prioritization system
    • Change emperorship to value faction score points and not alliance points - see this and this

    Indeed, it would help EP alot. This is kinda sad that EP is winning Thornblade with 2k lead still with 3days left on the campaign without any decent guild and without night capping like AD, without morning capping like DC at all.

    What does the score shows professor Braidas ?
    Well, thank you for asking son. The score shows who has the most presence in off hours, who has the most population in general, and who can organize their pugs in the most effective manner. Only at prime time are the quality of organized guilds revealed, but alas, they are only a few of the 24 hours and have little bearing on the end score.

    Note - you said "important" guilds first, and then "great". The former is a more accurate statement.

    DC can barely pop lock TB. Splitting between two campaigns will simply result in getting gate farmed in both.

    Because before WCFC quit and splintered, red had a hyooge Oceanic/U.S. morning presence. Their lead has diminished immensely since this.
