Is it me or is the new end game content not being played much by the community

I noticed on the leaderboards that there hasnt been too much happening in Vet Arena and Serpents.
I also noticed that even among my own previously highly active guildies and also in zone chat etc that there isnt a great deal of enthusiasm to hit up the content.
I think 1 issue at the moment is the very high cost of repairs for Arena - 1 night of arena may cost you a few thousand or more in repairs. I'd hate that if people were not engaging in what is awesome content purely because the repair bill is way to high.
Also perhaps Serpents first boss is tuned too high - I for one love it but it is very difficult content
The other thing may be that the active part of this game is slowing down particularly for Oceanic players. I certainly hope this is not the case
So ZOS - Please look at making Arena repair free or not damaging at a lower rate so that we can get more people into it. Shame if it isnt being done because of repairs

✭✭✭Maybe the reason you're not seeing much on the leaderboards for the Serpent Trial and the Veteran Arena is because the content was made sufficiently difficult to prevent masses of people from completing it easily. The hardcore players wanted challenging content so ZOS gave it to them.16 -

I'm fine with serpent being very tough but the rewards should reflect that in a way that doesn't create an elite class of raid equipped players. Personally I've always felt that legendary materials should drop from bosses rather than exclusive gear.5 -

Beating a challenging encounter because everyone played well together and fulfilled their job roles is a great feeling. Imho more group content is better, solo content for me is a do once and never return kind of thing, or something to do while watching a movie or tv. I realise solo players like solo content, but it's unrealistic to expect a lot of that in an mmo, given multiplayer is right there in the name...and besides eso has a gigantic amount of solo content if you complete cadwells gold, and it has a lot of content that is easy for groups but challenging solo such as public dungeons, craglorn, dolmens, world bosses. Overall I hope we see more group content added.13

Why is this news to anyone?
ESO has no "end game". ESO releases more content in all areas, to expand Tamriel on a regular bases. In different areas each time....
The reason why "end game" has fewer "activity" is because there is loads of activity all over. High level content is just like lvl 42 content, but in a different area.
ESO is not a level game. It is a skill, storyline, "lore" and never ending evolving world type of game.

overall I hope they implement some sort of scaling, that it is possible to do alone if you want (dont have to waste a whole evening on pugs and get fustrated) while the people who wanne do it in group can do it, the encounter is scaled to the group size, some more adds, some more boss hp, even some better loot and such, so everybody can enjoy craglorn
or otherwise some pawn-hero-companion-follower system, maybe even hireing chars from other players to aid you (like being discusses in the Heroes topic) so you can do some Crag stuff on you own

The game already took far longer than most other MMO's to get to max level. Without any exploits or grinding, it took about 5 days played (playing through the quests, not spacing). Which was maybe a day less than the average MMO to get to max level. But, then then went and added the whole VR grind crud, which added another 10 days played.
Each VR level takes about as much content as 8 normal levels (not 10 as people have sometimes said, but it does take about the same time 10 normal levels take, due to the increase in difficulty.
So they were already at a point that it took about 15 days played to get to max level, then they added 4 more VR levels, with no solo able content to get through them. Fricking genius that.
Even assuming that the average casual player can get through those extra 4 VR levels, its going to take them in the region of 19 days played to get to max level. That's 456 hours! 76 Hours a month or19 hours a week. How many casual players do you think put in 19 hours a week to a game? Oh that's right, people playing that type of time scale are not in anyway casual.
You want to know why the content is not being played? Its due to stupid decisions like increasing the VR cap, when most people have not hit it yet. You never ever increase a level cap before the vast majority of people have hit it, its common sense, well apparently its not.
I'm sure the word [snip] will be moderated, so when the mod comes in can they please ask for us what actual percentage of the player base is VR14 and what percentage was VR12 before they increased the level cap to 14, that would be super!!!

I don't know about the rest of the players base, but that's spot on for me. I currently have two characters at VR11, with - having completed all quests in every pre-Craglorn zone and all dungeons too - no way other than grinding to reach level cap.
I don't want to grind, and I don't want to do the end game content until I have completed the quest lines in Craglorn (call me finickety and maybe it is a self-defeating obsessive-compulsive tendency, but there it is...). Unfortunately, the only way I'll be able to do that is to sit around spamming for a group in zone or in guild chat for hours (and in the former you might as well whistle for a unicorn).
Sadly, although I like the game, that doesn't appeal to me when I could be playing another game.
Upshot: although I like the ESO, the fact that I want to progress in the order and on the route that the developers intended my characters are in limbo and I am elsewhere.....6 -

✭✭It's just you. Hundreds are completing normal mode arena and the old trials.
Hard Mode arena was cleared in NA and EP and is, as you say, extremely expensive. I spent more than 220 potions yesterday reaching stage 10 (lost our last lives after bringing last boss down to 50% HP but we'll kill him this weekend).
The real issue is the rewards and achievements:
We completed Hel Ra Hard Mode, didn't get the achievement and the loot is still VR 12.
If you complete Arena Hard Mode after a ~3-5h run, you don't even get a legendary item but the same loot you can get in Normal Mode Arena <= Huge waste of money and time?
Serpent Trial: Quite hard since stacking is impossible on first boss and the enrage phase is quite hard to survive for the tanks at the moment. You have massive waves of trash afterwards that require very good healers and the last boss's mechanics are hard to analyze since you're likely to get to him with only 10 lives left

The repair cost aren't the problem for me, but the potions are :O
The prices for some types of flowers have exploded on the EU server (stack of Lady's Smock sold for 30k) and many people want to buy Spell Crit potions (in zone chat and trading guilds chat) but there's few that sell them for the old prices.
But yes, I wouldn't mind if the repair cost were lowered as well because the rewards you get from most of the stages of the arena are total *** given how long it takes to complete them and how hard it is.0 -
jambam817_ESO✭✭✭I didn't even have a V12 yet when this patch dropped. Played since early access. have a Vr2 and Vr8 and after doing alliances areas over again, I'm just not as enthusiastic. Reaching VR14 doing the SAME quests i've done on another character is just not my idea of fun. Trying to push through though.4 -

Ya, I have two vet 12's and don't play them.......(nothing I want to do) and I will not be forced to group.
I do have two subscriptions.....one for me, and one for my Grand daughter, and we do play sometimes.... although we are very low level still.
If she gets tired of playing I'm done with the game......PVP and all group content aren't my thing.

I'm aaaaaaaaalmost Vet 7 and still got tons to see. While some sits with 4 x Vet 14 and claims their bored. ✭✭✭✭✭One thing I learned right away in the new arena content - the stack and AOE blob will get you killed/wiped, every single time. (especially in stage 3, and anything above stage 8)
Could it be that those trials DPS spreadsheeters met their match when they tried to do something that actually took real strategy and not just "stack up and spam PBAoE @ 1100+ single target DPS to win"
DSAN was 2 hours long, challenging, required my group to learn how to actually position for the bosses/spawns effectively, use more than just 2 skills in every encounter, and benefitted from our months of experience already doing all of this in other small scale content.
DSAV is next up, and we already know its going to be a nightmare, but TS, strategy, and knowledge of skills will prevail the day, unlike 99 percent of 12man trial group mentality.
