Even though this thread isn't really about farmers, I thought I would pop in with a quick question. I am about to hit v9 which means new gear, however I wear medium armor. Is there a place for me to farm shadow hide /before/ being v9 that I am missing? I know in Craglorn I am getting the tier down.

I've gotten plenty of shadowhide from my hireling. I won't have any problem by the time I reach vr9. Otherwise, you need to find vr9 level creatures, like crocs, bears, wolves, etc.

I guess I farm a little. I don't go for materials, could care less for motifs (although they are starting to build) but I want at least one Scuttle and one Dragon-sap recipe and I haven't gotten one yet, so I'll keep doing the rounds staying L15, until I get one. It's aggravating that I still often find L1 recipes but rarely find L10/L15 recipes. I know from one of my other Alts that as soon as I level up I'll only find L20 recipes :(.
Motif farming is one thing, I combine it with mats for provisioning and daeric hearts and the other rare style stones.
tend to comb the area I pass trough too while questing but has rarely done much grinding except running public dungeons multiple times.
You've completely missed the the entire point of my post.

LOL, I certainly did miss it, but you can blame it on the first commenter. I'm not sure that many of us think of the Bot/Spammers as Farmers. I suspect we think of people who use their characters to continually collect mats as farmers, not necessarily so that they can use them to sell stuff so much as make stuff. It's your terminology that confused people.

As regards my comment, I'm not really farming per se, I get annoyed when I get motifs (I do still need most of them though) but I'm searching through the containers for those blasted recipes. Sometimes I collect stuff, most of the times I just move on.

But on the subject of Bots/Spammers being unseen, yes, congrats ZOS :).

People call them many things. Farmers is what they are best known by.

Playing a new character through the lower levels again has revealed something to me.

Zenimax is the first and only gaming company to knock the Farmers out of their game.

I don't see the botters anymore.

    or the spammers.

    Gratz Zenimax.

That's because the bots have all moved to the public dungeons to farm animal hides and vendor loot in the veteran level areas, instead ;), which generates far more gold and is thus far more profitable for sleazy RMT companies. I will grant they have nixed the zone goldspam, but bots exist in very noticeable quantities still.

Exploits suck. Don't blame just the game, blame the players abusing them!

I have been in every vet dungeon repeatedly for about a month now and have still seen no bots in vet zones

Correction.....for the most part Zenimax got rid of the gold farmers and botters. They did not, however, get rid of farmers. There are hundreds, even thousands, of players who relog farm materials and motifs all day, every day. If you sit in one spot and kill the same group of mobs over and over again for loot....you are farming. If you do it for XP, you are grinding. The term "farmer" in an MMO is pretty broad.

But yes, it seems they got rid of the botters and gold spammers. There is nothing wrong with farming materials, motifs, or mobs. You aren't taking anything away from anyone.

To help you a bit. Farmer is a guy that uses hundreds of computers to run thousands of characters and level them and sell, pick nodes, farm bosses, things like that.

    They are gone.

The people currently relog farming items are players.

Maybe anecdotal evidence isn't the best thing to base your argument on.

It is the best thing to base your argument on. It resonates with people, doesn't take much time, and can be used to back almost any point. Lurkers who don't get into debates will respond to it just as well as sound argument and many people have trouble understanding why it isn't good evidence.

To really wow them, give anecdotal evidence, then back it up with fake statistics. Just a free tip.

They all moved to Wildstar. Which hilariously enough is condensing it's servers into a megaserver, likely due to a significant loss of players. Pity, it's a pretty fun game.

Zenimax truly destroyed the botters, never seen a game developer do that to any other game. Keeping it 100 Zeni destroyed them (y)

Sooo tell me.. who is it that is already picking that flower i'm trying to pick but I can't see anyone there?
So many times in Coldharbour this happens.
Or... the little pet that runs around by itself then disappears and then the flower disappears.
Creepy.. but the farmers are still with us.

Not sure if you mean Coldharbour area in general, or The Hollow City ...

At least The Hollow City is phased - depending on your progress in the quest line - however, the resources are shared between all different phases.

And the creepy pet ... can as well be that the owner is too fast for the pet to follow on it's pathing. (Seen it often in open world too ... someone running/jumping past me and soon after a "lonely" pet following this player and trying to catch up.)
