What type of player are you in ESO?

As we can see from this poll, the majority of responders like to solo. This game is a solo game online that you must pay for and can occasionally do MMO type stuff in it.

Thats it. And thats not what i was looking for. Old school EQ player, and the Anti-Group mentality in this game is horrendous.

Sub cancelled. Might play till Nov when it runs out, might not. I've finished all 3 alliance zones (got to VR2 in EP, then rerolled and got to VR8 in DC, came full circle). I don't have enoughf riends that play anymore or active guilds to do much in Craglorn. I don't have a VR12 to do trials.

Grinding out the EP zones again is getting mind numbing. I really wish there was more group content, maybe a little more casual than Trials and more meaningful then Vet Dungeons, which lets be honest, you only run once for quest/achieve/skillpoint.

I solo with my main, just taking my time, walking a lot and checking out the scenery and lore. In since early release and just made vet1.
Plus, I have alts that I play with my kids and grandkids, and that usually involves blowing through the content.

i chose both because Normally that's what i do Solo until end game then raid and do Dungeons..But in this game its impossible and theirs NO raids.. Timed Trials are not Proper raids.
pvp might of interested me but there also Impossible in this game. everything is unfair to each class.

Why did you make out PvPers like lolbois?

I normally RP-PvP, but not so much RP in this game so far. I am having trouble getting into character. VR broke my immersion.

Kinda bent questions. No option for role play without strong faction hate. Not me.

My Vampire Witch is nearly 1000 years old and the conflict she sees around her is just the continuation of conflict from ages past. She is a hero, a consummate professional, and her work is saving civilization.

She operates in a completely professional manner, is extremely sneaky and just fights the things she has to fight, everything else she goes around.

I enjoy playing her a lot. She is fundamentally evil and here to help.

I usually don't look for allies when doing normal quests, but I'm happy if someone shows up along the way. I like the social aspects of the game, the fact that despite I'm alone in a room in my house playing a video game I can still chat with other people, but I don't like it being forced on me: the one exception are dungeons, which I see as a necessary "evil", as they force me to actively bother myself and other people with premeditated grouping; I therefore try to do them with guildies. I like doing achievements and things like those, but it's just an OCD/completionist disorder, as I almost never brag about them.

Explorer, role player, pve, little pvp. Just want to point out one thing, these polls are meaningless. Majority of people never come to the forums unless they are having issues and even then check the customer service section.

Also the real role players are in game doing what they love. Majority of those people are pretty cool and helpful if you know how to talk to them. :-D

I chose the roleplaying one because that's why I play TES games in general, but I almost always play solo, and that is what I love about this game in particular. I played EQ for years and it's damned near impossible to do anything alone. Of course it didn't help that I was an enchanter, but that's beside the point.
In this game I can do my quests and occasionally synch up with other players who are doing the same quest I am and then we can help each other without grouping or ever saying a word to one another. I meet up with people at dolmens or in PvP and slay some ***, and then move on with little more than a /wave. It allows me to interact with others and deepen my game play experience without forcing me to actually converse with them, which is honestly the sole reason I left EQ. I'm not a fan of talking to people, especially when I could be killing things instead.

@Zorrashi Wonderful way to put it. I have sometimes said here if ZOS didn't want solo players it would not include any solo play. I've seen many, MANY people comment something along the lines of "its an MMO, go play Skyrim" etc.
One person went as far as to link how it ESO was being marketed to the solo preferred crowd as well to combat it.

ESO needs all player types to continue building, no matter what each of us prefer to do. Wish more understood that.
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

I already had my share of MMO's for roleplay, SWG being the best experience for me. Back then i also had more time. Now, to me it is just a game i do after a long day of work. I do RP a bit ( a stealthy thief so i can't wait for justice system). Mainly i like to solo the quests, group the dungeons and play loads of PvP.

don't like Craglorn though. I want to do the quests solo when i have the time for it. Can't wait for groups. The dungeons (and trials of course) i want to do in a group.

"I am a nightblade. Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

I voted for solo play, but to be quite frank it isn't really that I would rather play solo, it is more that it isn't always easy to find a group that have the same play style. I am a completionist (is there really such a word?) and I love to soak up the ambience. So far I have found that when I group up, everyone is in such a hurry to get to the boss. Of course I feel obliged to keep up, otherwise I'd be letting the group down, but in the end I just feel like it was a number crunching exercise, rather than a memorable experience.

As to PvP, well I'll be honest, I've never tried it, but have always expected that I'd be the worst player on the block and that the experience would just be humiliating :D One day I may get around to testing that out.

I guess I mainly play solo... but I PvP a lot recently so I am playing with others.... but I tend to not join groups... but I do run with groups when siegeing... and I love solo quests... but I like to do group dungeons with in game friends using team speak... but I have a job so scheduling with multiple people can be hard... I don't RP in the strict sense... but my character has a distinct personality...

I think ESO works for me because it can be many things to many people and it is one of the reasons I tend to resist people wanting changes to make it 'more like other MMOs'...

yea, as if we exist just to troll innocent people who... for some reason went to cyrodiil?

Personally, I do pvp for the challenge, and to murder other people and possibly be murdered by them.

I don't understand how that would make me not want a community. If anything I need other people, can't solo take keeps.
