Can't group up with special characters

I really hope this is addressed quickly, a Character I've been raising has an é in his name, whenever I try to get someone to invite me to a group, who ever is trying to invite me gets a message saying "character doesn't exist".

I just got to V2 and can't group with people meaning I pretty much have to strictly solo to level, which means I would have to play other factions which I really don't want to do...because I hate them...I hate those guys so much....

Anyway, please allow special characters in names like é and á to be recognized! I see other people with special characters in names so I know I'm not the only one in this boat.

If its not possible to allow special characters I would really appreciate a name change.

    Thank-you very much GaryA! My issue was resolved after contacting you directly through support. But I hope its fixed soon :) I'm not sure if it has been like that since the start of the game or recent. When I leveled I did it all solo and just used the group finder for dungeons.

    Please please acknowledge that the ZoS team is aware that similar problems exist for @ names. No one has ever been able to whisper my @ name - this has been the case since I signed up for beta last September. I have an apostrophe in my @ name AND my character name, so this is a double faced issue for some of us. I've been dealing with it so far by just telling people to message me on my character name instead, but if that has issues now too, getting groups or communication is gonna' be pretty much impossible.

    Bottom line: there are communication problems with people who have special characters in their character names, AND ALSO communication problems with those who have special characters in their @ names. PLEASE, if you are going to invest time into fixing this, fix it for both scenarios.

    Character set issues for identifiers. This is literally a beginners' mistake in software design. I would have expected better from a professional development team trying to craft a complex software product.

    i dont get any invites any more, who want to type /invite @name . they just want to right click+left click invite. please, please, fix this

    Since there's no need to use accented characters, it's simply an affectation some people have to try to look special, those suffering brought it on themselves, didn't they?

    Do you honestly think that accented characters are just spurious fluff that people use for annoyance? Or are you trolling?

    In most languages other than English, accents are necessary if you don't want to spell things wrong. And the issue here is also that they allowed hyphens and apostrophes in account names, but fail to allow that in /whisper and /invite. Having German and French versions of the game would easily lead you to believe that names like "Käfer-küsser" or "D'Alembert" would be OK unless the account or character creation UI disallowed it.

    If you are a troll, sorry I fed you. If not, please consider that there are other languages than English.
