Foundation Stone Atronach Crash Bug

I did a quick search for Foundation Stone and didn't find this posted anywhere.

There is a huge bug in game that is causing members of AA raid teams to crash to desktop during the Foundation Stone Atronach fight. Below is a link to my Guild's highlight of our last attempt at it. The first fight we lost 3 members to the crash, the second, we lost all but a couple.

As you can see in the video, it's not a death from damage, as all the members are suddenly and instantly dead all at the same exact time. I am uploading to YouTube as well if my Twitch link isn't good enough.

Hey there @Merrak!

We checked out your video and on the Twitch link, it looks like the 3 members that died got hit by chainspinner damage. The entire group took a large amount of AoE damage at the same time, but it seems those 3 were a bit squishier than the others.

Usually when a crash occurs, you'll see the members switch to "Offline" as opposed to "Dead." Your best bet is to check out some strategies online in regards to negating the damage from chainspinners.

If your group is experiencing crashes to the desktop, if you could let us know the error message that they receive or post a crash log, it would be massively helpful to investigating the issue. Thanks for your patience!

My guild just finished running AA this evening, and can report the same thing. Multiple players crashed around 2/3 of the way through the Stone Atronach fight. This happened several times this evening, causing us to end the raid prematurely.

Just had several crash on same mob. Crashes happened on same mob 2 separate times a few days ago at same spot on this fight. There is an issue and it isn't not knowing the fight. There were no error messages reported.

Thanks for the reply @ZOS_GaryA‌ , however if you look at the video again, all of our group was near or at full health, and a single hit from a Chainspinner will not cause them to die, with or without Negate up. Please pay closer attention to the video. The deaths are instant NOT damage deaths.

Let me clarify we are a guild that has had nothing but success in AA since we started running there. I ask that you do not dismiss our deaths as "not knowing strats".

This is an event we put on for our guild 2x a week and until 1.4.3 have had nothing but success. The players who did go down had completely lost connection to the game, a full crash to desktop which was confirmed in our voice chat.

I know in general situations when a player crashes, the game says offline, however I'm reporting a bug...not general deaths.

NOTE: I am getting additional feedback from the second fight reporting that one of the members who went offline was responsible for our Negate. However, we still had two people crash (Moyria and Draken-Rei) during that fight as well.

If you rewatch the fight, pay attention towards the end of the first attempt. The game reported back that the players were "Dead" during the fight, however, as soon as the fight ended, the game reported the players as "Offline", as seen around the 1 minute mark.

Hey there folks,

Thanks for letting me know. The videos don't contain a whole lot of data about who's online and what have you, so we simply go by what we see.

For the players crashing to the desktop, is there any message given to the player at all? Generally there are three different types of crashes that can give us a better insight into the actual issue:

1. A crash to the login screen, usually accompanied by an error message (An unknown error has occurred, error 301, etc)

2. An ESO crash, which gives you a crash box with a short description, a long description, and the ability to submit the report. In this case, a copy+paste of the long description would be helpful

3. A Windows crash where Windows reports that "This program is no longer working and Windows is searching for a solution." This generate an Appcrash report, which is also helpful.

If the game is simply closing completely with no message, it's a bit strange but we'll be happy to look into that as well. For folks that are experiencing the issue, as them to run a repair and see if it helps. To repair the game client, close the game and open the ESO launcher. Above the news ticker, select Game Options and choose Repair from the drop-down.

I can report the same thing happening to our raid as well - I had searched the fora last week (our last trial day was on Friday, 19th) to see any report of it and as I did not find one I thought it was something else.

However, after 3 tries at the boss half the raid was getting crashes. They were ESO crashes, with the "Submit" box. We have filled some reports, reporting the place (Foundation Stone Atronach, Aetherial Archive).

For some reason, some people were always crashing - 2 of our member crashed 5 consecutive times while other had more random crashes.

Did this last night, when the Foundation Stone Atronach was at 27% hp - 11 out of 12 people instantly crashed to desktop (standard ESO has crashed message).

As far as I'm aware, those effected by the crash would go straight to desktop. I will reverify later this evening with those people.

We have another scheduled run on Tuesday. If the bug still exists at that time,we will run the event, then once someone crashes, we will have the entire team do a log out and repair.

Got an update from one of the participants. Upon crashing to desktop they received the ESO Crashbox. They did not copy the crash, but if we get the same thing again, I will make sure we get it copied over. Also, there is nothing in the Live>Errors folder for them to give us any other details as well.

Hey there folks,

Thanks for the updates. If it's generating an ESO crash report and people are using the submit button, that'll contain a ton of useful data for our guys to look over. We'll be sure to keep them updated with everything in this topic.

If anyone has more information that they would like to share, please continue to update us. Every bit of information is helpful!

So far tonight, we are experiencing grouping bugs, people showing in group that were not invited, not being able to leave group, not being able to regroup. And all this prior to actually going in for the first fight.

Otherwise, we did not get the crash bug tonight. Fingers cross that the Monday patch fixed it silently. Will report back with more info upon running it again.
