Maintenance for the week of December 23:
• NA megaservers for maintenance – December 23, 4:00AM EST (9:00 UTC) - 9:00AM EST (14:00 UTC)
• EU megaservers for maintenance – December 23, 9:00 UTC (4:00AM EST) - 14:00 UTC (9:00AM EST)

I started getting pop up warnings that LUA was running out of memory --- to reduce my add-ons.

I started going through them and saw that where it lists them, there was one that said " Disclaimer " and two that said " Read Me ". I have removed all unused add-ons and compared the list of add-ons with the folders in the live/add-ons directory and they match but there are no extra folders that could be the three items with the strange listing.

Apparently some file is corrupted.

How can I get rid of those non-existing add-ons?
I have them unchecked so that they aren't used by any of my toons, but if it is reading the list in then it may be causing problems when it hits add-ons that don't exist.
If I wanted a Signature I would have a Signature --- but i don't want one so I don't have one.

i am not sure i understood this in all honesty, but it sounds very similar to what a lot of players experienced post 1.33. If so,

    - update your libs (there is a standalone for this)

    - find the specific addon culpits, post in their respective threads asking the owner to update his own

If this is something different, ignore this. For your information however, this disclaimer/readme is an -obligatory- part for all addons to have. It is natural for you to be able to see it.

I'm sure there is a disclaimer and a readme in every add-on but it should not show up in the list of add-ons in the game.

I have removed all unused add-ons and compared the list of add-ons in the game with the add-ons in the add-on folder documents/Elder Scrolls/live/add-ons and there is one folder for each add-on --- so that all matches.

But, so far, I haven't been able to get the listed disclaimer and readme's out of the list of add-ons in the game.

    THEY SHOULD NOT BE THERE.

I believe the game reads in the list of add-ons when you start it up and if a given toon uses an add-on it is called up when you load that character -- or something along those lines.

If the game is reading in the list of add-ons and there are 3 items in the list that don't exist ... it just might cause problems.

There is no add-on called " disclaimer " or " read me " so how those words are getting in the list of add-ons I dunno. That's why I think I have a corrupted file somewhere.

    If I wanted a Signature I would have a Signature --- but i don't want one so I don't have one.

I got the same popup last time. To get ride of it i deletet the PriceTracker.lua on SavedVariables. There was some changes in the past on this Addon.
I also change a line in the UserSettings.txt called SET LuaMemoryLimitMB "64" to "128".

I don't have the PriceTracker add-on and there is no .lua for it in that directory.

    There < are > .lua's for add-on's that I removed!!
So they may be the cause of the problem.
I haven't changed the memory limit yet. That should be no problem because this computer has 16 Gigs of RAM so I should be able to set it even higher.
I have a Logitech G-15 keyboard with an LCD that shows my my CPU and RAM usage and I never see it go about 29% while playing so memory should not be a problem.

I think I will rename those .lua's that are leftovers from uninstalled add-ons to see if it causes any problems .... either that or move them to a holding directory.
    That might be better.

Dont forget eso is only 32 bit so it can't be handled more than 4gb of memory.

All files with .txt extension in addons folder and its subfolders are displayed in addon manager. So if you don't want to see "disclaimer", just find "disclaimer.txt" file and change its extension (for example to "disclaimer.doc").
By the way those files aren't real addons and they don't occupy any memory space.

That's ok, I only set it to 128 ... figured that should be plenty. 100% increase.

I also noticed that I had several .lua files for add-ons I no longer had installed. I had no problem just going through and deleting them while matching the list to the list of installed add-ons. It took less than 10 minutes and from now on I will just go in and check that the .lua is deleted when I uninstall an add-on.

Same here. Minion is fairly nice but fails every now & again. You have to do things manually. On occasion also remove some addons files and start over again.

I did finally have to change the user file since I'm now up to 39 addons.
