After all for technology to improve all it take is for someone to say 'what if I combine this with this, put it into this before setting it on fire.'.
After all, we didn't invent the computer, television, phones, guns, planes, etc overnight. It took us centuries of study , innovation and learning from past mistakes to have what we have now. So in the future TES games, maybe we can see technology based on/improved from what the dwemers had as we see people studying their ruins and automatons, and maybe stuff of their own designs.
I know for a fact that many people will look at the title and come armed and ready to attack me as a troll, a class A idiot, or worse, but let me explain first before you start attacking me...
Engineering in WoW was designed so that you can get mechanical versions of random stuff for about half the cost of the real McCoy. Here are a few things I can see ESO doing in the engineering department...
1: CANNONS!
Cannons, cannons, cannons. Back when I posted a thread titled "Guns in ESO", many of you came armed to attack me as soon as I mentioned the cannons. But, if engineering comes along, then cannons could be reality...and those flimsy bolt throwers will be a thing of the past. Now, mortars could also be made, but I feel that it is too...ummm...technologically advanced for the time. But still, if you have engineering, at least make a mini cannon.
2: LAUGH HYSTERICALLY!
Ok, ok, let me explain. Back in WotLk, there was an engineering recipe for gnomish inventors that allowed you to engineer a set of goggles that, when worn, allowed you to see people NAKED!
To you Dominion people...remember when Razum'dar said "We do anything for the Queen, which sometimes means riding a guar naked through an Argonian temple?" If you could make a set of goggles like the one described above, you can be like Raz!
3: MECHANICAL HORSES!
As soon as you guys mentioned the mechs, I decided that the thread for "Guns in ESO?" was toast. But, here's a problem...living breathing horses cost 18000 just for the slowest mount.
But with engineering, high priced horses would be a thing of the past. It's simple. All you need is some metal ores/bars. Total cost to make: 5000 gold rather than 8000 + for a living horse.
Anyway, that's just a few suggestions.
Well, what do you guys think?
Comments, questions, concerns, insults?

Crossbows....gimme gimme.
Grenades....yes please.
Satchel charges/explosives. Yes, now, give me the boom.
Everything else? Meh, can do without it.

You all have to remember this is an MMO in the Elder Scrolls universe. Its NOT REALLY an Elder Scrolls game.
