The best laid out city

What do you guys think?

For me, for ease of use, it's Veleyn Harbor. It's not close, either. The Wayshrine may be just a tad further than I want away, but the WW table, Clothing Bench, and BS forge are all under one roof. Alchemy, Dye Table, and Enchanting Table are all right in Mage's guild, which is very close to the Crafting hub on a straight 90 deg. line. The bank is also very close.

    Rawl'kha is my favorite
Extremely compact, with bank right next to Wayshrine (huge plus). Since the whole town is in less than 1/4 area of most towns so don't run too far. Alchemy/Enchant can be a bit hard to find first time.

    Another good one is Riften:
BS, Wood, Cloth, Cook all in one place. Bank right by with enchant on other side. Alchemy/Dye is down stairs, which is annoying, and stables are rather far to get to.

For daggerfall characters pre-vet (with Wayshrine close), probably Rivenspire is the best. All but dye, alchemy, enchanting are close to wayshrine.

For great layout absolutely killed by the Wayshrine placement:
Bleakrock Village - open-air with banker in the crafting hub. Wayshrine's a mile away and you kind of ruin it with the quest. Also no stables since starter island.

Betnikh - again, open air including bank. Wayshrine down a mountain, though.

Now, what'd actually be the hands-down best location if they added a bank and a Wayshrine out would be the prep room of AA. Probably a good thing, though, as throwing players in their own instanced prep/bank area probably isn't healthy for a MMO.

Riften is great. Mournhold is pretty decent too, now that they've moved the wayshrine to the "centre" of the city (just outside the Smithy)

Riften and Mournhold are the best IMO, then there's Davon's Watch. I hate how Daggerfall is laid out...

In Daggerfall Covenent I've been using Shornheim in Rivenspire for all of my toons. Everything is located together near a wayshrine ... except for enchanting/alchemy station - which is a little run ... but overall I find it pretty convenient. Always open to suggestions for more convenient locales.

I like Windhelm as a city. The ESO version feels more like a city compared to Skyrim's mausoleum version. Unfortunately, that place is the founding city for the Eastmarch Diet if you want to use if it for crafting and banking.

Rawl'kha is the one. Not only the best town but among the best set of Guild Vendors as well.

By far the "best" city (short distance between wayshrine, bank, crafting stations and stables)!

Rawl'kha would be absolutely perfect if only it had a grocer. It's still my favorite city anyway, just because everything is so close together, and it seems to have some of the best guild vendors.

    Covenant = Shornhelm

    Dominion = Rawl'kha

Pact = Not sure... maybe Windhelm or Riften, although neither is as good as the two above, IMO

Ebonheart's best for a crafter is definitely Stormhold in Shadowfen
All crafting places next to each other just the fireplace is a bit off and the Bank is next to the crafting area.
The very best would actually be Bleakrock on Bleakrock Island but once you finish the storyline there it becomes unusable, sadly.

In EP, Riften is not only one of best crafting setups, but also the all-alliance market district, it seems. You can buy and sell like anything there. And I just like the place, Skyrim<3
Also, Rawl'Kha is awesome. Also a lot quieter than Riften as it is vet 10 zone for me, and stables are not a km out of the city walls, too.

Until I discovered Riften, I was using Shadowfen main city, always forget its name xD Don't really like the whole swamp thing, but everything is situated very conveniently, plus stables RIGHT next to waysh, perfect for feeding horse.

I like Shornhelm, the wayshrine, the crafting stations, (smith, clothing, woodworking), and the bank are all right next to each other. And enchanting, alchemy, and dye station are just around the corner.

Surprised no one mentioned Stormhold in Shadowfen. Wayshrine, bank, and crafting stations all very, very close together. It rains a lot, though.

For those of us on not so powerful PCs I would say Dhalmora for the pact, Shadowfen is just too damn laggy.
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

Got used to using Stormhold after seeing other people use it exclusively months ago.

Does anyone have a good suggestion on the best 'dye' location? Sometimes the lighting is just so horrible.

For a lot of us a really good grocer is as close as your nearest mage's guild.

Got to mention Velyn Harbour, a quick run from the wayshrine, leaves you with everything in a really compact square. If you haven't revisited it since you quested in Malabal Tor, it's supremely excellent.

It is there, just not with the most of the other vendors. It is on the ground floor, not far from the Wayshrine. IIRC it is to the right of the stairs going up the crafting areas/Guilds.

I haven't seen the every city, only character doing Ebonheart is a vet level. I agree mostly with the above assessment but I have to mention Haven in Grahtwood. Low population always and loads fastest on my computer. My enchanter is near perma bank sitting there.

I'm thinking of running to Stormhold to check it out.

Haven has a long run between crafting and bank as well as a wayshrine that is separate from both.

Stormhold is good due to crafting and bank being close. The wayshrine is a run. Riften is better with crafting and the bank next to each other and the wayshrine just across the waterway.

I can't believe nobody's mentioned Bal Foyen (EP). The wayshrine is a bit far, but not too bad (and there are mat nodes on the way). All crafting stations and the bank are in the same building, except for a cooking fire, which can be found in the house across the way.

Second favourite is Stormhold in Shadowfen, particularly for feeding the horses.

My AD alt is in Rawl'ka while her horse is leveling, as it's very convenient to go from the bank to the stable. Other crafts are a bit far (she is leveling enchanting right now).

Riften is not bad once you are in the crafting area.

Rawl'ka is by far the best town.
A good mention is the town from Malabar Tor.
Used alot main town from Rivenspire.
    The rift is also ok.
After i finished cadwells gold, i always go to Rawl'ka.
