We recommend players who receive the "An unknown error has occurred" message to completely log out of the game and close their game client.
They can then reopen their launcher and let it patch to install any existing updates. We would also advise the players to open their Game options menu located under the News section of their launcher and to click on the Check for Updates option.
We've also found that some users are able to resolve this on their own by disabling AddOns.
Players who are still receiving the same error message after trying the above steps can also repair their client; the Repair option is also located in the Game Options.
If the above steps do not resolve the error, we recommend contacting our dedicated Customer Support team with a copy of their Game Consultant. More information about how to retrieve it can be found here.
As a reminder, please do not post your Game Consultant File on the forums, as it does contain private information about your computer.
