Installing game for both EU and NA megaservers.

Hi, I know there are a lot of threads on this topic, but most are outdated and no longer applicable since the EU Megaserver went live.

I play on the EU megaserver, but have not managed to successfully download and install the NA megaserver game from the same launcher.

I did get the install to 93% yesterday, but had to Pause the install, shut down the computer and restart the install today. But, when I went to restart the install, the only option I had was to install the complete 27Gb NA game.

Does this mean I have to wait for the complete NA install to finish before pausing, stopping or shutting down my system?

What happens if I pause the NA install, then switch to the already installed EU game and then go back to the NA install, will I have to start from 0% again?

I play on both servers.

Provided you don't do it in a period when the NA game has been patched and the EU hasn't, the files for the game are exactly the same.

You can copy and paste files from the "The Elder Scrolls Online EU" folder into the "The Elder Scrolls Online" folder, launch the client, switch server and then just click repair, the client will take a while (maybe 10-15 minutes or something) to verify the files. You don't need to download the entire 50 or so Gb twice to play on both servers.

As I said in the first paragraph, just be sure not to do it at a time when one server/version has been patched and the other hasn't, otherwise the patch/version number won't match up with the version on the server.

EDIT to add: And yes, shutting everything down in the middle of downloading the game will probably mean it has to start from scratch the next time you boot up - but if you already have the EU game installed then you probably don't need to download much anyway, try the method I suggested above ^

Many thx for your reply.

Sadly, when I tried copy and paste to "The Elder Scrolls Online" folder, the launcher repair option would not work and returned an "error 209 Patchmanifesterror_versionfail" message. Which may imply that NA are currently running a patch variant to EU or something else is wrong...

Edit: Romo spotted why my copy and paste failed (see Romo's response below). Basically, I needed to delete three version files from the NA folder before running the repair.

TESO How to convert EU server download to NA and vice versa

Open your launcher switch to the server you don't have, make sure it is not downloading.

Copy pasta the server folder you do have into the server folder you do not.

Folder names are below if you need to create the DIR. They both go in the same folder, so wherever you installed to.

'The Elder Scrolls Online' for NA
'The Elder Scrolls Online' EU for EU

Go into the server you just pasted and delete the version files.

depot.version
game_player.version
vo_XX.version where XX is your language mine is English so i would delete vo_en.version.

Go back to the launcher, above the news feed is a drop down menu called 'Game options', select 'Repair'. When it finishes you will be able to play the game on the other server.

Thank you Romo, your observation that I needed to delete the version files was spot on and it worked for me.

For others...

I also made sure that I had turned off the Auto Update feature to make sure no auto update was being attempted before running the repair.

Copy and paste took around 10 - 15 minutes to complete and the Repair was 12 minutes (these times will vary for different computers).

To login to the NA Megaserver, I then had to Authorise the PC for the NA game via the code you are emailed. The initial login was around 5 minutes to the introductions and Character Creation.

Now, I can simply choose between my main EU Megaserver and NA Megaserver from the Launcher options menu.
