The Dark Cloak nerf

I just happened to scroll over my Dark Cloak on my hot bar and noticed that the wording had changed.......it now says, "removes up to 4 DoTs" when is USED to say removed up to 4 NEGATIVE effects? Um, WTH Zenimax?

Why does purge still say "negative effects" but not Dark Cloak? This was the main reason for taking this skill so instead of you FIXING the skill so it actually removes NEGATIVE effects correctly (which it never has) you instead nerfed the skill to only work on DoTs? (presumably since that would be much easier to fix)

I....just......man on man I just do NOT get it. Does Zenimax just have some sort of grudge against NBs and making them work as advertized?

Very discouraging to discover this along with all the other broken NB skills that only partially work or not at all (or just outright suck). Guess Zenimax is doing what they can to phase out the antiquated NB (and eventually the Temp) so only Sorc and DK remain.

    It has not changed. It was always removing DOT effects, not negative effects.

    If it actually did what it was supposed to even with the description change it would be a net gain for NB's. Unfortunately it has never worked as intended and only removed one negative effect a cast, not three.

    At least on paper it's moving in the right direction with the 1.4 patch. Unfortunate for NB's there's a ton of problems associated with the patch for them.

    BUT NEVER FEAR! ZOS IS HERE...to fix it. Kind of...sort of...maybe...next week...they said. :disappointed:

    It's always been dots, purge says negative effects because it removes things like mark target, curse from sorc, debuffs
    Banned for Naming and Shaming exploiters. Great ideology ZOS.

    I can confirm dark cloak has NEVER said "negative effects" but rather "damage over time effects". The OP is misremembering, here.
    -First-Wave Closed Beta Tester of the Psijic Order, aka the 0.016 percent.
    Exploits suck. Don't blame just the game, blame the players abusing them!
    -Playing since July 2013, back when we had a killspam channel in Cyrodiil and the lands of Tamriel were roamed by dinosaurs.

    It did used to say "negative effects" because I remember raging about the change when it happened. But, this change was done pretty early in PTS and I don't remember it changing since that time.
