REALLY? Have to redo ALL Keybinds individually for each character?

Wow, seriously that's freaking awful. At least let us do it once for the entire account if we have to redo keybinds. I hate the defaults.

Even if you have that crazy gaming mouse with the 12 buttons on the left side, it's going to take you what? 3? 5 mins max. to redo. I can guarantee, you are going to survive through this...I mean come on...

Haha. I died in combat because of it, felt like a newbie because I was grouped, but luckily my key bindings were not so many that it took me forever to redo. I got over it. Glad I was able to break out my vr12 again.

Haaaa, yeah, had that "pleasant" surprise when I logged in just now. I'm a left-handed gamer who plays that way, which means remapping *everything*. Not to mention having to retweak things like chat colours to reduce eyestrain and other settings....Luckily, I keep screenshots of how everything is set up for just such an occurrence (though they're *slightly* out of date), but still, not how I planned to spend my free time this evening! Shoulda known things would go wahoonie-shaped when I logged in and the audio was glitching in and out during character select screen load.

DEFINITELY gonna be checking out this bind-saver add-on.

Can't wait to dive into the new patch stuff when I finally get going again! Which will probably not be tonight since I just have time to finish remapping everything before bed, haha.

What did you expect? That they could actually implement a patch without tons of bugs and issues :P? Pff , not for another 2 years.

This breakage is pathetic, how the hell did some clown in development screw this when no apparent changes to the UI were being made at all?

Frankly the lack of a character-to-character copy of keybinds etc. was bad enough in a game released post-2000, but when an idiot breaks it and we're forced to do it all again, it's beyond crass.

This is typical after large patches in MMOs. It's more common if you use a lot of mods. The mods can't be up to date until after the patch is launched.

This was by far the most annoying thing of the patch. Even my customized chat tabs were gone and need to be created on each character. I haven't had an MMO do that in quite a while (sure OLD ones -- but not within the last few years), I mean it's 2014.. what gives?

It would be great if they had a way to have every single customization persist across all characters AS AN OPTION. Sure some wouldn't use it, but some of us would. I mean there's no reason I'd need a different setup on one character than the other since they all share the same guilds, friend list, and bank anyway.

Agreed, I suggested this back in beta as well. Just makes so much sense.

It's not often that people use 8 completely different keybinds for their characters.

Binder doesn't seem to do anything for me.

I save settings on one character (it says the set is saved), switch to another, load the set (says the set is loaded)... nothing. Same default settings.

I enable auto settings, fix keybinds, switch to another character.. nothing. Same default settings. Try loading the saved set again. Still nothing.

Maybe if you had Binder prior to 1.4's release, it's working for people, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything at all at the moment, other than telling me it's doing things that it's not. : P

Could possibly be an issue w/ Binder not playing nice w/ one of my other addons. I don't have anything that does exactly what Binder does, but I've got plenty that add new keybinds to the game, such as Wykkd's, FTC, Greymind's Quickslot Bar, etc.

I suppose it would be nice if we could set the character settings globally (Or not) if we wished. It does get a little tedious having to reset everything about my game every time a patch comes out. This happens with lots of games, but even so it is annoying. I certainly heard some f-words on Ventrilo last night about it from other people, so 'frustrated' does suit the mindset of a lot of people. I would not be too surprised if they get around to allowing us to save keybinds to a file that could be loaded eventually, lots of games do that.

Per character, times 8 characters for me. That's the better part of an hour of my life wasted because they did something to break all the game settings, and settings are individual per character.

Honestly, between the SavedVariables bug, the fix to the SavedVariables bug, and now this, every major update has broken or reset some kind of game settings. I think we are well within our rights to be mildly perturbed.

This has been an ongoing issue with my characters. Especially with Swap Weapon and Mail. I now check those things every time I log into a character. If I don't I will find myself in combat and looking at my mail instead of swapping my weapon.
Very frustrating!

Fascinating, it is December 2020 and problems of the year 2014 persist!
I came here looking for a solution to the problem that the game reboots the controls of my characters. I have more than 10 characters ...
Well, I just wanted to leave my grain of sand saying that after 6 years the problems persist. I've been playing for more than 3 years and well, what makes me want to play is the deficiency when it comes to patching the game well and giving real solutions.
