Client Fatal Error 11 on launch

I've been getting this error message on launch, and I haven't found any instances of anybody else getting it. It appears, to my untrained eye, to be identical to error 12, though none of the fixes for error 12 have resolved the issue.
I've even gone so far as to allow the repair tool to run all the way through, twice. yes. the scary thing with the 20 gigabyte download attached to it.
When that didn't work I uninstalled and re-installed. Same error, same presentation, which leads me to believe its some type of compatability issue on my end. Does anybody have a clue as to what this might be? Drivers are freshly updated and the same error is given when I attempt to launch from eso.exe

    Relieved to see I'm not alone here Ekofrozen!!

    Also attempted full repair to no avail, along with many misc. fixes/checks to correct other errors. I'm typically very patient, but this is starting to get to me! *Starting to have Diablo 3 "error 37" flashbacks here...haha

    Anxiously waiting for DxDiag ticket to be reviewed.

    Thank you for posting also, as this is the first I've actually seen another person struggling with Error 11.

    I also get Fatal error 11 whenever I push the play button would love to know the fix once somebody else does

    Hi folks,

    Could you give this a try and see if it helps any with the fatal error?

    Please go to My Documents/The Elder Scrolls Online/Live and look for the UserSettings.txt file. Then perform the following steps:
    • Open UserSettings.txt with Notepad
    • Press Ctrl + F and search for RequestedNumThreads
    • This brings you to the line SET RequestedNumThreads "X" (with a number instead of X)
    • Change that number to 0 (zero, not the letter O)
    • Save and close the document
    • Restart the launcher and try to launch the game

    If there is not a UserSettings.txt file, let us know as that could also be part of the problem.

    UserSettings.txt was originally non-extant for me, thought I added it using a copypasta I found on these forums, I'll Post back when I get a chance to change the RequestedNumThreads value to zero. I'm attempting a re-install right now

    after re-installing I've gotten an error 302 message that seems to require me to download the game a fourth time. I've also just recieved word from my school's IT department that I've taken up 34% of all total bandwidth used in the last 5 days, and that if I do not cease this action my wireless priveliges will be terminated. Needless to say I can't afford that, is there a workaround available for this that would allow me to get in game without downloading another 22 gigabytes

    As with Ekofrozen, my UserSettings.txt file was originally missing also. Same error (11) even after its addition.

    I have also:
    • Opened ports 24100-24131, 24500-24507
    • Selective start-up (clean boot) = same result.
    • Temporarily disabled windows firewall + Antivirus blocks
    • Run As Administrator (always)
    • Uninstalled/Re-installed
    • Repaired (3+ times)
    • Updated graphic card drivers
    • Installed all optional Window updates

    A DxDiag support ticket has also been sent; [Incident: 140401-042571]

    Mine was already the number 0 in the usersettings file. also when I try to repair it gets stuck at 17% and still getting fatal error 11 on the play button

    I loathe to say it. but a full re-install was necessary for me. Even then I got a 302 error that wanted me to do it again. Re-install, cancel the update (that for me was a 25gb download) and hit repair ASAP. It gave me something like a 5 GB repair download and I'm now in-game without issue. Which seems like a miracle given my last 5 days of battling this launcher!

    ...guess I can only hope the 5Gb 'update' I currently have downloading is the same cure to Error 11

    Since most recent update, my error is now 12.. no longer 11.

    The prevailing logic is that errors 11 & 12 are essentially the same thing, for instance, what fixed my error 11 was intended as an error 12 fix. Hope that helps.

    Error 11/12 is very frustrating Anebis, agreed.

    Only way I finally managed to "fix" mine was to get a refund for the digital version, and buy a physical copy from which to install from. Still had about 5Gb worth of patch updates to download, but that's nothing compared to re-downloading the entire client over again. Found a box that had all the pre-order perks included so it was nice to not miss out on those also; at Walmart.

    Had this error 11 problem. I was on the beta, so I still had all the files and launcher installed on the computer. Tried to uninstall everything that wasn't the "new" ESO. Nothing changed, still same error. Tried to repair, but it basically wanted to "repair" the whole 22 GB of game, therefore I'd rather uninstall the game and download it again from scratch. I consider myself lucky, because my Internet - most of the time at least - is quite fast. I dread thinking about those people who wait for days before the download is actually finished, to then find out the file are bloody corrupted or whatever happened to them.
    I'm in work for 9 hours a day - not mentioning the travel to work - and I don't have all this time to spend playing. Still though, it's one of the things I like to do on my free time. What drives me mad is that people lately waste most of their time re-downloading the game/updates because they get corrupted whilst being downloaded, and we're all paying for this. Not only the first pay off to buy the actual game, but also every month to be able to play. I think it's not fair.
    I've also read about people sending tickets and not even getting an answer. I can understand there's thousands of people playing this game, with consequent thousands of tickets, but for god's sake, we are all paying.
    Just disappointed.

    same here...cant log in, dont see anything more recent than the advice to do this^^ didnt work.

    Also, can you let us know if this issue occurred after the recent 1.4 patch, or if this is a new installation of the game? Thanks!

    it was an uodate with the new 1.4 patch. also it was giving me a different error that wouldnt let me log in before I repaired then it started doing this one. the repair took all night, so I wont be able to try it until night againz but ill post when I do. thanks.

    1.4.4's brought up the an Client Fatal Error 6 on launch. I'm doing a repair now. I tried XP sp3 compat and admin, no dice. So, we'll see if this works.

    EDIT: Repair worked.

    Keep us updated if the repair doesn't work. It fixes a very large majority, but we can definitely provide additional troubleshooting if it's not successful.
