One server to rule them all -Campaigns-

The present state of the pvp servers was evident to me when I first saw the setup back at launch. Each faction dominating their own server attracting more and more players of the same faction hoping to take advantage of the resource buffs inevitably producing a stagnant pvp experience.
The campaign format was changed in patch 1.3.3 in order to consolidate the pvp community and produce a more intense sieging experience. This well-intentioned decision was only a half measure that needs to be corrected once and for all.

Campaigns have never been well-balanced because there've always been too many/pop caps have been too high. True there were buff camps in the old setup (as there are now) but no one played on them cept AB (srsly wtf did 2 bars of ad pop do at 2 am w/ no enemies?), everyone just stacked on wabba which is the same here but w/ thorn. Problem is, it more often than not turns into a laggy mess b/c the servers cant handle all 3 factions pop-locked very well. The only decent camp there's been imo was DB 2.0 for the first bit till it started poplocking as well.

Imo they need to make pop lock between 2-3 bars for each faction, have only 2 campaigns, remove guesting/travel to player, follow through with their plan to have buffs only apply in the campaign you're currently in and homed on, and remove pvp buffs in pve altogether - no buff servers, no massive pop difference between alliances, and no (well, much less) lag.

Might also help if they add an overall scoreboard for each alliance spanning both campaigns (with separate rewards, other rewards and emp/leaderboards would still be unique to each camp) - make it even less desirable for an alliance to stack one campaign.

Personally I have never experienced lag on the level that I see people complain about on the forums. Maybe Im just used to the standard mmo lag but that unplayable god lag? Never. The lag complaints have existed since launch and considering the reduced number of servers the lag should be worse not better.

The problem is that pop stacking is inevitable. Once a certain faction is dominating a server every member of that faction will switch home servers for the more favorable rewards . The only way to prevent this is to force the factions onto the smallest field possible.

I like the 2 server idea if the lag issue is truly unplayable and unfixable. There definitely needs to be less servers than factions to force conflict though. Perhaps a 7 day and a 14 day server. Do we really need a 30 day campaign? Also why do we need to lock our characters to a campaign in order to join? It should be enough to just specify your home campaign for the buffs but maybe that is for another thread.

I am all for a single cyrodiil campaign - as soon as a single campaign becomes capable of hosting everyone without going belly-up :)

I don't understand. Are you referring to the lag on Thornblade during peak hours or are you suggesting that Thornblade is an enjoyable experience?

He is referring to casting your abilities and nothing happens, getting sub 20 FPS even though you have a rig which should be getting much more, casting bolt escape and not moving, swapping weapons and nothing happens, all the things that make it unplayable with a blobbing zerg ball.

Force weapon swap to have priority over EVERYTHING. Close enough.
Make stamina builds even with magicka builds.
    Disable abilities while holding block.
Give us a REASON to do dungeons more than once.
Remove PVP AoE CAP. It is ruining Cyrodiil.
Fix/Remove Forward Camps. They are ruining Cyrodiil.
Impenetrability needs to REDUCE CRIT DAMAGE. Not negate entire builds.
Werewolf is not equal to Vamps/Bats.

So, while grinding to VR14 in Craglorn the game has run smoothly since the patch. No crashes, no FPS issues, nothing. All this while running around in the new PVE areas including Delves, Public Dungeons, and Dragonstar Arena.

I get my new gear made and enchanted, then head into Cyrodiil. I see BRK is about to be under attack and port there to try my new build out.

3 crashes to desktop within 5 minutes.

OK, so Im in Cyrodil pretty much everyday and never experience that level of lag. The most I have witnessed was probably 3-4 seconds delay when activating skills before seeing the actions and that is during server capped zerg marathons. I believe a lot of people are confusing lag with chop as lag does not affect fps.
