Out of everyone who plays ESO, maybe .0001 % read the forums on a daily basis. Zenimax made the change because it needed it, not because of 30 or so people on the forum.

Unfortunately, the Night's Silence 5 piece bonus is now broken. I'm a werewolf, not a vampire, and the Night's Silence set no longer affects my stealthed movement at all.

Then again, how can you access the game from any computer and still have your settings?

@ZOS_GinaBruno, after trying to play again tonight, the new movement in 1st person while sprinting makes the game unplayable for me. I'm about 10 or 15 minutes into the game before I'm actually sweating from motion sickness. I could try to relearn the game in 3rd person, but I've played all TES titles in 1st person.

I always laugh when people ragequit after an update, but I might need to put my account on hold until this one gets fixed. At least provide a toggle to go back to the old movement style.

I just logged on after downloading this big update and find that my account is set to off line and I can't switch it to show me as online. I've submitted a ticket for this error, but want to also post here in case others are having the same error.

I have the same issue, and since I do a lot of RP, or guild activities, Nobody was even able to whisper me, effectively rendering the game unplayable for me today... *sigh* on the other hand, werewolves got a nice turnabout of ninja buffs, my damage is about 200 points higher, the form maintains longer, and the ult costs almost half as much!

Please try the following workaround for this issue:

Type one of these commands in your chatbox to correct this issue:

/script SelectPlayerStatus(1) – Available/Online

/script SelectPlayerStatus(2) – Away

/script SelectPlayerStatus(3) – Do Not Disturb

/script SelectPlayerStatus(4) – Offline

Please remember to only type in the script and bracketed number (I.E. /script SelectPlayerStatus(2) for Away), not the status description.

If this does not work, please let us know. Also, don't forget to check Known Issues For Update 4 for answers and updates.

Don't feel bad, I have tried at 4 different times to log onto the NA server and have been frozen/stuck in the loading screen after entering password and selecting my player. I actually read all of the comments on this thread while waiting X-(

Which is freaking ridiculous. There was nothing wrong with the Night'sSilence set and the way it worked for vampires. Now it is completely WORTHLESS for vampires as there are MANY better sets since it's main attraction, the speed, no longer exists. I built a set to try it. It was too fast. Just Dark Stalker speed gets me into trouble sometimes. I use it for sneaking and you really can't with that much speed. Forward ... stop, forward ... stop became a real pain. I'd end up clicking too close together and somersaulting into the trash.

ONE time I went over a cliff when I was still getting used to it. Laughed my arse off! After that, I got used to it and never had a problem again. The funny thing is, out of 7 characters I have ONE vampire and I never get impatient with how "slow" all my other characters move. But my vampire today? I didn't even want to play her.

Hey at least the managed to nerf my nb cloak. I definitely felt to op the one time I actually managed to use it to escape from someone. Luckily the fact that the stealth radius passives are broken, cloak is even worse and night silence set doing nothing. Should combine to ensure that no nb is able to successfully leave combat or enter it via stealth again.
All they need to do now is stop sorcs using magic, DK using fire, and Templars healing and we will have balance.

Edited to add that this bug turns an MMO into a solo game, which is NOT what I paid for and definitely not what I want. So I won't play again until this is fixed. My expectation is that it will be fixed tomorrow, because it seems to be a widespread problem. However, if the end of September comes and this is still not fixed, I will (reluctantly) unsub. I'm not on this forum daily and not given to complaining about the game's bugs. But this one is a game breaker for me, so Zos_CatK, please pass along the message that my statement to unsub if this isn't fixed by the end of September is a real statement of intent.

Perhaps it should be called the molasses update? I have been downloading it since I got home from work it is still not done. Same issue every time with this launcher. I can download five 20 gigabite games off Steam in less time than this thing updates one... *wierdness*

The day has come where not only addon makers are coding for ZOS, but us regular players are now fixing ZOS coding mistakes.

@ZOS_CatK - a whole bunch of us are stuck "offline", not just that guy.

You are wrong. ZOS was aware of the stacking. Commented on the stacking of vamp and night silence specifically. The ZoS rep checked with the dev team and reported back it was in fact working as intended. The community asked about before the new speeds were implemented based on ZoS's written intentions for the sets and they reported afterword asking for feedback. They were very clear that it was working as intended. The nerf to it was after the Non Vamps had a crap fit and BE ing sorcs were getting hunted down... we have to live with it but it was ZOS's mistaken, accidental / on purpose misinforming the community that caused such a reverse outcry.

The Nerf arguably may have been the right thing to do but it was mishandled at every step of way.

While I am thrilled about many of the changes I am sorely disappointed by a few things.

1. The settings all being reset caused me to die... twice, and to actually start crying when I had to go through fixxing them on 8 characters and you can't make the settings universal on the account. YES I want autoloot on for ALL of my toons. And why do I have to reprogram my keybindings for attacks 1 and 2 on my mouse so I won't die when I forget and get into combat for every single character ;(

2. When will provisioning get ANY updates? It's such a mess! It levels too fast, but once your toon is high level you can't find low level ingredients or recipes anywhere. There are far, FAR too many different ingredients. And drinks are completely worthless since the food buffs are far more desirable. I am looking forward to the changes discussed in the forums but disappointed that it seems such a low priority.

3. New trait stone does not drop from refining as it did on the test server. Where DOES it drop? over 1500 refinings and not a single one found. If it will only be gotten from item drops in upper craiglorn, that's going to be insanely hard to get enough to do researches, much less supply people with armors!

So Spectre's Eye set is not working correctly right now... Spectre's Eye 20% dodge bonus for 3 seconds with a 6 second cooldown whenever a spell is cast now actives on many actions not classified as spells. Here is a list of some of the things I have found are now able to activate the set bonus...

Entering Sprint
Exiting a Block
Entering Stealth
Mounting Your Horse
Entering a sprint on Horse
Simply clicking the Shift key

Pretty much 50% of the time, no matter what I'm doing, the set bonus gets applied, in or out of combat.

Also fix the derpy Resto Staff run animation (which gets even worse when swapping between two resto staffs, making you move like a puppet on strings).

It's not an issue of maintaining it, it looks like the files that store your settings had default versions lumped into the patch, overwriting yours. I backed up my settings before the patch and noticed afterward that they had a more recent timestamp.

As for why the files got in, well, I'm sure it was unintentional, but it's a heck of an oversight.

It was probably because of the new settings for particle effects.

Reading all the topics revolving around the update 4 issues, I'm amazed that they even let the update go to EU also as it really seems almost game breaking and rollback should be considered.

Aren't we hearing the same after each big update that it's game breaking and should be a rollback or is it just me...

Think once they postponed EU update as noticed from NA that it was totally broken. So currently
- Settings reset
- Online status needs to be changed via command
- Crafting will not update the info on what you are crafting
- Deconstructing is not returning anything
- Many sets and skills that were "fixed" do not now give anything
just to name few that I could quickly remember. And there were more.

So reading through those it seems for me that there is actually no point for me trying to play at all until things are fixed. I can log in and chat with friends but that's about it. Previously I have not felt like that as most of the things that patch broke didn't effect me mostly or were just minor disturbance.
