pretty sure emperor farming is done at this pointDleatherus wrote: »my current understanding is that they will be removing the VR only campaign and adding another 30-day campaign
this will still leave us with 5 campaigns (2-30day, 1-14 day, 1-7 day and the nonVR campaign) when i believe that the pvp population asa whole would be better served with just 2 30 campaigns at the moment, period
once they show that they are filled on a constant basis THEN introduce new campaigns
until then enjoy folks coming into other campaigns with emperor bonuses, guesting en masse to another campaign to cause temporary imbalances, and a diminished amount of emperor farming

I fully disagree with this. For starters the NA non-vet is a good campaign that doesn't need doing away with. It also shows that a campaign can be successful and balanced without a lot of people.Dleatherus wrote: »this will still leave us with 5 campaigns (2-30day, 1-14 day, 1-7 day and the nonVR campaign) when i believe that the pvp population asa whole would be better served with just 2 30 campaigns at the moment, period

Now we have enough players to completely fill two campaigns during prime-time, but limiting the number to that is not what's going to be best for PvP. It also punishes players with alts in more than one faction who want to go to into PvP legitimately for fun or skyshards and not to spy or exploit.
Four is the barest minimum they can reduce the number of mixed campaigns to. Three if they keep the the VR/NV ones or start resetting campaigns that go the way of Had. Two, if they introduce PvE Cyrodiil, and allow players to remove characters homed to a campaign without having to switch to another.
Two campaigns also means a lot of AD especially would be waiting in queues longer during prime time than their counterparts in other alliances. They can replace campaigns that don't work, but reducing the number of campaigns is no longer a go to option.
For all three factions at once on both, but you can see at least one faction pop lock on both during primetime. And that's the alliance whose players would suffer the queues more often.driosketch wrote: »I fully disagree with this. It's not often that we see 2 campaigns poplocked. I agree that the non-vet should stay, but I feel like D was referring to the normal campaigns (but maybe not). If there was a way to have an overflow campaign that opened when two main servers approach a certain capacity, I think that would be the way to go. Balancing numbers for each faction could be tricky though, if one alliance had very strong presence it could be a problem for that method. But it would look like- 2 normal, 1 non-vet, 1 normal overflow that opens when both normal servers have x population.

@ZOS_TristanK
Any chance when the campaigns reset they actually reset? (keeps, emp and all) As it stands now on Haderus, the Emp has been reigning for 42 days. If anyone else wants emp they will have to try to ap farm on the more populated servers vs afk botters and ap farming guilds. We can assume this is an oversight but will probably not be addressed any time before 1.7.9 patch comes out and removes former emp buffs. Some of us want the dye. Thanks!

i think that this is so that if one alliance is dominating a campaign, or totally losing it, that they don't just give up knowing it's pointless since the campaign resets in 2 or 3 days etc?

Maybe so, but they just added a new 30 day, so if your alliance isn't winning you can just abandon ship like we saw over the last 2 weeks from all factions to a different one. We need LESS options not more.
