Drastically worse graphics performance after patch.

I was getting 60 fps on Windowed fullscreen High settings before patch, now with every extra effect turned off and Medium I am getting 30fps in non-busy areas. This was with all addons disabled. Load times are at least 4 times as long as before. I freeze up constantly when moving and freeze for a couple minutes entering new areas. How do I get this back to how it was?

    Hey there @kitsinni,

We recommend starting with a repair to see if it resolves the issue. To do this, open the Launcher, and just above the news ticker select Game Options. From the drop-down, select Repair and let it run.

Let us know if your performance improves after that. If not, we'll be happy to continue helping!

That's odd because I have noticed vastly improved performance since update 4 esp in PVP. Everyone else in zone chat said the same when I asked. However I have had 3 crashes tonight in the PVP zone.

I notice graphic problems with the game since update 3 ...I have gave up ever having just 30 fps anymore when I started ESO during beta.

I'm reloading it so it will be a while before I can test this. It wasn't even close to the same performance. I would try to attack and freeze for 2-3 seconds even with every effect turned off and on medium. Reloading the game takes 24+ hours on a fiber connection so maybe tonight I might be able to test it. I was dropping to 10-15 fps in a town. Everything was great the night before.

Games still playing fairly smooth for me (pve) but my GPU fan sounds like its on its way down a runway.

Something in this patch is taxing GPU's heavily, friends have reported the same issue.

Actually thanks to new particle effects settings the performance is much better after this update.

Yup, running with resto staff now looks like you just extracted it from somewhere :)

I noticed an issue i am having when using standard on 5+ enemies since the patch, it causes big fps drop each time every enemies ticks(with the white fireball graphic which seems new) Never had this problem until this patch. Only happens when using Standard of might.

Apart from that, performance seems good.

I'm experiencing 3-4 second freezes at irregular intervals (interval can last from few minutes to few seconds). Usually when content is being loaded in the distance.
I tried 'repair' option, installing fresh graphics drivers, but those freezes won't stop.

I reloaded the game on a HD instead of an SSD. There is a thread in the general forums and it seems a lot of people who had the game on an SSD had similar problems. It is something you may want to check in to.

My fps is way down since the patch. Used to be getting 60+FPS it doesn't get past 55 and it's very inconsistant, constantly changing from 55 to 44. It's just not stable.

I'm experiencing similar issues w/FPS going from 60 and for no reason dropping sometimes by 20. Prior to the update my fps was always a consistent 60 now it's all over the place.

Also I'm having a hard time getting a straight answer regarding the new PFX sliders. If I wanted to maintain the same graphical fidelity prior to the update what should my settings be set at?

I also experienced similar performance loss after the patch, here are some things I've done which might help you:
Update your addons (obviously always a good idea, but I don't think it was the real issue here)
Run a repair (usually pointless, the game is "working as intended" as far as files are concerned, but hey you never know)
And the winner for me: Delete your user settings file (located in something like D:\Users\Name\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live ) and let the game rebuild it. In particular disable color correction
    SET COLOR_CORRECTION "0"
this is my first option because I hate they way the game looks with it on but if you need it also try changing
    SET MIP_LOAD_SKIP_LEVELS "0"
this is a somewhat well known trick to forcing the game to load the high detail textures sooner to avoid those ugly low-res textures that appear before the high detail ones pop in which I find extremely annoying, default is 0, pre-1.4 recommended was -3, I am currently using -1 with little impact.

I'm running this game on no-SSD notebook harddrive and having same issues as mentioned in this thread.
