No loot from a World Boss VR7 vs VR7

Why is this a thing Zenimax? I can run past a group of people attacking a boss and drop an area heal and be rewarded with at least some gold; but if I solo a creature with roughly 15x my health and hits for about a third of mine each time he drops to the ground and disappears leaving me with nothing to show for it.

Sharpfang at Dire Bramblepatch in Deshaan, btw.

    Did you kill another WB before this one? Or a dungeon boss? If so, there is a cd on loot to prevent farming.

    Hi, do you know the cd for this? I've never heard of it before, but it's probably because I've never come across this problem.

    From my best guess, based of timing of some of my own kills, it's at least 15 minutes.

    They did this cause at launch you would have like 20 bots around Public Dungeon bosses. People couldn't get achievements for finishing the dungeons since they couldn't get a hit in.

    I wish they would change it from any boss to individual bosses. It's frustrating when you leave a Pub dungeon and then there is a World Boss up near it but you can't go kill it cause you won't get anything.

    Yeah. There's an area in Bangkorai with three world bosses close to each other, I easily moved between them in that time frame - I wasn't even trying to farm.

    Hey there @eNumbra,

    A lot of folks in this thread have the right answer! There is a cooldown on looting elite mobs that was introduced in patch 1.0.5. This timer counts for bosses in Delves as well as overworld bosses, so if you killed one recently it is possible that you won't receive loot.

    Well, f* me, just remembered that I had come out of a delve just before doing this.

    Had completely forgotten about the cool down. How long is it exactly? So I can make sure to time it, so I don't get inadvertently screwed over again.

    This timer has to change, it's completely stupid.

    Put a 1 hour timer on the SAME boss, but don't make it universal. I've gone through public group dungeons where I miss loot as the timer is in effect after the first boss kill. Going in with a group, you can end up clearing the entire dungeon before the timer expires.

    Not to mention if you go through a zone with a group doing bosses, you kill a boss, then you have to waste time till the timer resets and you can continue if you want loot.
