Why is download so slow?

I had to reformat my HDD due to a virus. I am downloading the full game again and it is soooo slow. My internet speeds are around 280Mbps, but my download speed is only managing 50kbs. Are the servers capped at a low upload speed or what?

Agreed! Had to re-install too, due to upgrade. Started ESO download 12 hours ago. Also downloaded Tomb Raider, Bioshock 1, 2 and 3, Crysis 1, 2 and 3, Watchdogs, Skyrim and Far Cry 3, all done except ESO, which putters along at ~50kbps, no matter whether something downloads in parallel or not. Pathetic in this day and age.
I bet it will finish just in time for today's downtime.... :-(

In this case, ZOS isn't serving you the data. It's their fault and usually is.

I'm experiencing a similar problem. Nothing else was downloading extremely slow when I tried other things. Pretty sure it is on ESO's end. Lame. AT this rate it'll take over a day to download.

I assume that is not even including the patches.

Uggh, I just want to play. I won't be able to touch it this weekend so I essentially paid almost 100 bucks to wait 5 days to play this game.

Not a very good first impression.

It's been four hours since my last post. At this point, I've been downloading for 7+ hours. I'm 15% done. If I press pause and resume, sometimes it jumps up to like 500 kb/s but then quickly drops down to the 30/40 kb/s range. I've been periodically giving it that speed boost, but it this point it is just depressing. Applied through email for customer support.

If any one else has been through this, I'd like to hear about it.
