    I was running very similar tests this week, but against mobs. I am at work so I might not be able to provide accurate information.

    First, I was testing the Crushing enchantment and found that it is doing nothing at all. I reported a bug. You might want to test this.

    I next tested the sharpened trait along with the Mark that NBs have. I found that Mark Target was adding none to very little damage depending on which sharpened % I used. I tested 14%, 10%, 8%, and none. What was odd to me is that sharpened seemed to reach a cap earlier against physical damage than magicka damage. I assumed this was due to the mob type I was testing. I think this should be looked at more.

    You should run the same tests using physical attacks. Players comment on the magicka/stamina difference, but they seem to forget the damage type part of the equation.

    If anyone wants to do more testing I am willing to help, but I travel a lot. Send a message and I will get back when I can.

    @Hereford thanks, I appreciate both the extra info as well as your offer of help. I am able to dual log with two accounts onto PTS so I can handle the actual testing easily enough :), but it's awesome of you to have offered your time to do so. I will definitely be trying these tests with physical attacks pending research completion (I put a bunch of sharpened/other weaps in on a character to research so I can craft items with the proper traits) and Cyrodiil being available on PTS (as well as real-life time permitting to work on more testing, which I should be able to hopefully at some point tonight or in the morning).

    It does take a fair amount of time to do this testing and ensure it's compiled accurately & spot-check my work as I go + double-check everything. I'm curious as to the results myself, honestly, though :) and will try to get it all done in a relatively short timeframe.

    I vaguely seem to remember somebody posting some time ago that NPC's aren't ever actually "armored". Could be what you were seeing with the ineffectiveness of crushing, and issues with Mark Target and Sharpened.

    This is just on live against mobs, but I use 1H+S and Resto on my weapon bars. With Sharpened Resto, I do exactly the damage that the tooltip says. It seems to be completely unmitigated. With Sharpened 1H, I do more damage than with a non-Sharpened 1H, but still less than the Resto staff. And the small percentages of penetration on the weapons seem to be a much bigger effect than the 36% penetration from Light Armor.

    My guess? Light armor passive reduces resistance number. So, mob has 1000 resistance. Light armor reduces by 36%, leaving mob with a final resistance of 640. With sharpened, I think it is reducing damage mitigation. So, mob has resistance of 1000, which mitigates, let's say, 8% of damage. A Sharpened weapon with 10% penetration goes right through that 8% damage mitigation. It does not reduce 8% mitigation by 10% and leave 7.2% damage mitigation.

    A bug? Or working as intended?

    I don't think the shadow stone works at all. It seems divines with thief stone is adding 0.3% crit per piece with purple gear. So that must be multiplying the thiefs bonus by the divines.

    Hopefully this got to the devs soon enough for them to address it before the patch drops. It would be nice if this were fixed in time for the new nirnhoned trait to be useful.

    @Attorneyatlawl‌ - Thanks so much for this thread. Our Dev Team has had some eyes on it today, and really appreciate it.

    If his test cases, results and conclusions are correct then ZOS should hire him or give him a free sub because chances are he's done more work in regards to functional and play testing this game than any of your in-house testers.

    It's a shame that a company with a subscription service feeds off of complimentary service provided by the customer. Certainly not the first time it's happened.

    Throw him a bone (or a couple), please. It would be a lot better if things were done correctly the first time.

    Hi all... just an update as far as my progress on further testing. Unfortunately I have had two rollbacks now today on the PTS (presumably affecting everyone), after having twice placed items in for research on an alt so I could craft a sharpened 1h weapon and a 2h ice staff. Additionally, for trying to do some of the extra testing I could do with the template-provided weapons I have been unable to get Cyrodiil (Thornblade was where I had done the tests in the OP) to spin up, as well as trying Chillrend on with an alt (in both cases, I remain in "solo queue position: 1" forever, and attempting to login the characters already inside sticks me on a never-ending (10+ minute) Requesting Character Load screen), so I have been unable to do anything further so far. I will continue checking to try to test further as soon as I'm able, but with the server issues I've encountered today I won't place an ETA this time other than that :).

    My current list that I want to look into testing (not all in one go, probably though!) is:

    -Sharpened on 1h (against magical resists)
    -Sharpened against phys/armor (1h, bow)
    -Damage with crystal fragments, 28% light armor pen, aether set bonus debuff on target (reddit request)
    -Check unmitigated damage amount of crystal fragments against an absorb bubble (which should be an unmitigated figure) to ensure sharpened is indeed a full bypass (and not just an extremely high one) as prior testing indicates. (idea of how to do this from reddit user)
    -Sharpened trait only with no passives (isolate sharpened 100% exclusively) (reddit request)
    -Flame lash or nb skills against flame or spell resist/armor and seeing dmg scaling (should apply to other potential dual-type abilities such as lethal arrow?)

    Thanks for doing the math on this. I actually was working with a guildie hoping to code an addon to do an analysis very similar to this, but you seem to have done all the work already!

    Now, perhaps for the less mathematically inclined, we could convert this into a spreadsheet or wiki that is easy for even novice players to understand? :p

    Welcome :). I'm still working through more of the remaining testing, but it has all been done manually at this time (no special addon coded) by verifying with combatlog statistics and foundry tactical combat logs.

    I have noticed a handful of anomalies such as the API reporting a crit, then reporting a non-crit as a crit afterward, so if you do testing with any created to cross-verify make sure you are keeping an eye out and drop combat to re-test the numbers. I had considered a basic helper addon but with these issues decided the best route was to conduct all testing manually (and slowly). These glitches were consistent and easy enough to catch when doing it that way.

    As far as a breakdown and lower-level/more easily digestible analysis, that's actually a larger project I have had on the backburner for a couple of weeks now and have been working on writing a long series of game mechanics & guide articles for a new site I'm creating :). In the meantime, though, that's why I have been adding some quick notes to the posts to hopefully make the results clearer for people who don't want to/have the time to/don't know how to fully analyze/etc. the numbers.

    I have updated the OP with a couple of smaller additional testing sections.

    As you have two accounts, you can make real tests. Could you also test how the impenetrable trait works ?

    If the critical rate is reduced subtractively or multiplicatively, eg. someone has 10% critical rate and attacks an enemy with 10% resistance (impenetrable). Is it 0% or 9% to critical rate.
