Guild Traders

Something is horribly wrong as all traders are already taken by guilds...what happened to the week long bid process?

@ZOS_GinaBruno, @ZOS_JessicaFolsom.

Edit: I just when to every zone on every alliance and all traders are already taken, the bid is due in 4 days and 14 hours....

    Hey @lorail!

That's working as intended, as you can read in the Patch Notes v1.3.3. Since nobody could bid on this cycle last week, all traders were fair game once they set up shop. Once this cycle has ended, it'll work the way you expected it to.
    Guild Traders
    • Guilds can now hire merchants from The Gold Coast Trading Company in locations across Tamriel to serve as public outlets for their guild stores.
    • Guilds will participate in a blind bid that lasts one week to win the traders’ services for one full week. You can only bid on one trader at a time, and the highest bidder will be the winner.
    • Guilds can also hire a trader for a flat fee, as long as the trader is currently un-hired.
      • You can hire the trader during a bidding cycle, though you’d only be hiring him for the remaining time that’s left on the bidding cycle.
      • This hire lasts up to a week, until the end of the current bidding cycle, and is first come first served.

To be noted here, a guild has to have 50 players in it to have a guild store and purchase a vendor..

Where is the end game? You just played it.
Why don't I have 300+ skill points? Because you skipped content along the way.
    Where is new content? Sigh.

Un-hired guild traders cannot be bought.

I'm looking at one right now that is not hired, I have proper permissions, and she only gives me the dialog option of "Goodbye".

@ZOS_GinaBruno As of today (Monday at 0900 ET) There are a number of Traders across the zones that cannot be purchased. (they respond as noted above in @GTech_1 's post.

I have opened a bug report on this (140818-001499)

My specific example is Laknar in Daggerfall, but I found Traders with the same issue in Wayrest, Sentinal and Shornhelm.

    Gina (and other ZOS),

I don't want to post it here, but feel free to email/PM/whatever me for a list of the ones I've encountered that are behaving like this.

I have found this same bug also, after missing our Guild's Trader Spot we wanted. I would like to add though that a trader we had hired the week previous ( hired, not won the bid on ) gave me the option of entering the Guild Store. Even though I could not hire her due to some bug. It was different than other non-hired traders that would not let me hire them. They only gave the option of 'Goodbye'
  • Eve_Knight
Yeah, they're doing a lot of weird things. Some are normal. Some don't show tabards or the guild name when targeting but still show a Guild Store option (which displays the guild name once you actually have the store window open) but are still missing the hire and bid choices. These problems seemed to start yesterday.

Others have been completely invisible since launch.

Sounds lie something went wrong with the end of cycle code. I've also gotten reports of being able to browse the store but not able to make a purchase.

Is there any update on this? They still seemed to be bugged last night (though one of the traders I was checking out now has a guild), and with the bidding cycle coming to a close in a few days, guilds can't even bid on those traders.

Maybe a dumb question, but why are all the "guild vendors" I see selling... nothing? Is there some magic way to see the store stocks?

People underestimated the traders and hire them with hardly nothing to sell, or they can't handle the selling volume and are not able to keep up. You need close to 75% of 500 active member to post daily for the guild to be able to keep up on sales, at least that is what I have see since the traders came out.

Are you pressing R to search? When you first open the guild trader, nothing is in there until you search.

@lordrichter Yeah, I have tried clicking things and entering stuff in the search box, and I don't see anything. Maybe some guild vendors are better than others? I just need to find them, I guess.

I am not sure what dynamic causes guild traders to have no stock, to be honest. I know that when I first started using them, I had to remember to do the initial search.

I have yet to find any guild traders that have no stock, but given how fast some of my stuff sells, sometimes it is a full time job just restocking. It would not surprise me if a guild with a small stock and low prices got cleaned out quickly.

    @ZOS_GinaBruno‌ , I filed another bug report today: 140901-000675

The Kiosks cannot be bid on (again) ... :open_mouth:

We won our bid this week and the Kiosk is showing our colors in Wayrest. I did notice that none of the five located in Daggerfall have tabards on, but this may just be a coincidence.

Can't buy non bid on Kiosk again, went to AD, EP, and DC, ALL zones had at least 1 kiosk not being used and NPC will only say 'Good bye". It is a REAL bummer getting up at 5am for a bug.
On side note, was the plan really to have guilds CHARGE to be members? I have dropped 2 guilds asking 3k gold a week to be members. Fine bid 1 million gold on kiosk in 1 town, but let us small guilds have a chance to use the non wanted merchants. Starting to feel like non bid on kiosk are 'bugged' for Zos's gold sink.....

I'm the guild leader of a Trading Guild since Early Access (NA), in no way of fashion would I charge anyone a "weekly fee" to be able to hire a trader. We have around 460 active members (110 on at all times) out of 500 and our store is always stock enough to pull over 100k on taxes a week. That alone is enough for us to hire a good trader without even spending half of the taxes.

Guilds that require the membership to "donate" gold are either lacking on active members, lacking on store items or lacking in good planning or all of those. I would never be part of a guild that makes the membership supply gold for something that can sustain itself, never the less inflate the pockets of the leadership with my hard earn gold.

On topic, I notice today around 10ish kiosk in various locations that can not be hire and around 5 that don't even have traders on them at all, something is going wrong with them, specially the ones on places that change when a quest is completed, aka Coldharbour.

NA Maintenance is skipped, and the traders bug out *again* ...

The bug is in the end of cycle code, which is normally "covered up" by the maintenance routines.

    Get it fixed, now.
I'm sick of features being broken for weeks or months at a time. This type of nonsense is embarrassing for your company.

On a side note, there is a bug when clicking Sort by Price. After the first guild trader you visit, you always have to click the price twice to have it sort by highest price.
  • Eve_Knight
Worse than that is it scrolling back to the top after you buy one item. Hopefully those fixes are also in Update 4. Probably not. But hopefully.
