Werewolf bite bugged?

@AleriSadasIndoril and I have been trying for two days now and I still haven't gotten infected, but my active effects have been spammed with 50+ Devour buffs.
We have tried different times of the day (tamriel time) and he have exited the area and returned but still didn't work.
We also tried standing at different places without luck.

Yep, sometimes you gotta run like 50m away and then come back it'll work.

Every once in a while you gotta run away twice and come back.

Not the bite-ee, just the bite-er. Tell the bite-ee to just stand there. Then bite him from behind. That way you'll totally eat his butt.

He have tried running a lot of times but to no help.
And I'm the bite-ee ;-)

I think we will give it a try

I @AleriSadasIndoril (WW) walked away from the shrine, unfortunately it did not work anyway and another trap is - if you go too far away... - you lose the Werewolf form.
