Did layoffs result in a server downgrade as well?

Ever since the last wave of layoffs I've been having unknown errors, lag where I can't interact with anything until I alt+f4 and reload the client, infinite loading screens, etc. It hasn't been this bad since launch.

I have port forwarding set up so unless the game has switched the ports it uses so that I need to forward new ports, it shouldn't be my router.

Either way the game is pretty much unplayable for the past few days.

ZOS hasn't done their regular server maintenance in weeks.

I wonder if that is related to some of the recent layoffs ...

Didn't know they hadn't done maintenance lately. But even just checking my characters for mats and crafting research on a daily basis I've noticed over the past few days frequent disconnects and errors.

The two things are oddly synced though, makes me wonder.

They haven't done maintenance probably to prepare for the 1.4 patch.

The layoffs have nothing to do with that. The layoffs were the extra people they hired right at launch to handle the surge in tickets that always happens with the launch of any new game.

I made a new character and went up the stairs in the Silvenars office in Khenarthi's Roost and got a loading screen, which is really weird from just going up stairs and the loading screen never ended or finished after 10 mins, so I shut down the game and restarted and it was ok after that.

But really weird to get a loading screen when I never zoned. Just wondering is that because of no maintenance for such a long time?

They said that they were putting all of the pending fixes into Update 4 instead of interim patches. I think they only do server maintenance when they have server fixes to apply.
