Please Fix Provisioning ASAP - Game Breaking Issues

What the heck have you done to Provisioning devs? I'm getting Veteran Ranked ingredients and recipes in low level zones such Stonefalls. I even got a VR 12 jerkin from a chest. I don't know what you've done to the looting system but it is clearly not working as intended. I've been spending countless hours trying to level up my new VR12 character up in Provisioning but it is near impossible to find any of the low level recipes and ingredients that the zone dropped originally when I leveled up my first character.

The only way I've found to get the low level items such as guar eggs, drippings and snake poision was by logging in on my level 8 character and bank the stuff I got. This is absolutely *** up.

Please restore how it was before. We should be able to go back to the other zones as VR rank and get the level appropriate items for that zone.

It is working as intended. White, zero gold loot, such as armor and weapons, are set to your level no matter what zone you are in.

Provisioning items are also set to your level now. If you want the basic starter provisioning items, you will have to either purchase them from someone, or collect them on a low level alt.

Has been discussed ad nauseam for the last few months with a lot of threads on it. Here is a recent thread in the crafting section with some suggestions:

    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/128510/leveling-provisioning-on-a-vr12-character#latest

They are planning on changing the entire provisioning system so I doubt this will be addressed before those changes come through.

Also wouldn't call it game breaking, just annoying.

This isn't entirely true, in VR6 stone falls, I'm still pulling things like Meal, Thin Broth and Drippings along side Mudcrab meat, Mountain Berries... etc.

Yeah it seems as though when you go to the VR zones the ingredients are zone based.

If it's any consolation you'd need about 20-30 ingredients of a given tier to progress to the next one, since Provisioning levels up so fast. You could easily buy what you need.

The "base" ingredients (drippings, broth, fat, meal, mash, etc) are zone based, while the "unique" ingredients (goat, mudcrab, saltrice) seem to be at least partly character level based). It's a bit messed up, but as someone else mentioned, with the overhaul of the provisioning system coming, I don't think they are going to put dev time into it. :-(

I started putting low level up for sale in the guild store, as lots of vets seem to be getting into provisioning right now.

OP- Well, ideally you don't wait until V12, or V-anything for that matter to do provisioning, you do it while leveling. So in that sense my provisioner is exactly opposite your problem. She is V7 atm but finished long ago, so when I'm searching for ingredients I want the things I use now and not a bunch of low level junk that I will just end up dumping because I don't need it.

Makes it slightly more difficult for procastinators and/or people that change their skills later on, but easier anyone that is done leveling crafting and is Vet rank.
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

Basically, loot everything or *** off from the game. If we are going to follow that logic then you'll have no room for things that are valuable that you can either a. vendor or b. deconstruct.

This is a backwards system, hopefully they have the revamped Provisioning system ready sooner than later.

Trunks/Cabinets/Dessers/etc.. typically drop mats based on your character's current level.

Barrels/Bags/Sacks/Crates/etc.. typically drop whichever provisioning mats that zone is supposed to drop.

If you're leveling up Provisioning, then focus on the barrels/sacks/crates. I recently did it with a VR toon, and was able to find everything I needed with little trouble.

...where do you even read that into what I said? lol. But I do whole heartedly agree with scaled to toon lvl crafting drops. If by "fixing" it you mean go back to only getting the top tier ingredients in ColdHarbour, no ty.

I don't see how having your drops match your toon level is backwards.

That's not what I'm saying. CH is a level 50 zone, so they would have to totally revamp the recipes by making new ones and adding the required ingredients in the 1 to 50 level bracket, and then do the exact same for Veteran Zones.

But I digress. The Provisioning system has been a complete mess since beta, it's obviously to me that it got rushed or perhaps for other reasons (the inclusion of Veteran Ranks and Zones).

Edit: I said "Basically, loot everything or pluck off from the game" with sarcasm. I basically meant that if you want to progress any further with your VR 12 character you need to make a new toon and go through the hoops to grind the level appropriate items found in those zones. I actually tried to buy Ebonheart Pact ingredients but I found almost nothing, and If i did find one of the ingredients I lacked the second ingredient.

This is understandable because you can only get the lower ranked Faction Ingredients with an level appropriate character.

Edit edit: Yes, compared to other MMORPG's, this system is backwards. In other games there is a structure that you can see and understand.

    Example:

zone of doom designed for level 1 to 10 characters.
Zone of doom has three recipes: level 1, level 5 and level 10 ones.

each recipe has their specific ingredients found in specific parts of the zone. good level designers structure their map with specific level ranges, where you can then find the ingredients needed for those level specific recipes.

in eso, everything is a jumbled mess atm and it shows, again, how badly the provision profession got rushed out the door.

This is not exactly true. It is one way of accomplishing it. But you can also go to the 1st provinces in the other alliances to get the same loot. I'm DC on my main. All the provisioning loot I could get in Glenumbra, I can find in Auridon and Stonefalls.

Weird, you're complaining about loot scaling...

Something isn't game braking if it only affects you because you didn't level up a trade skill as you were leveling your character. If you don't want to farm with a lower level character then buy mats off of lower level characters....

that can't be working at intended. You would have to have alts at all the varying levels.

So? You would only need an alt at the varying level to make stuff for that level. You only need to make stuff at that level if you're actually playing at that level. If you're playing at that level, then you already have the alt.

Actually, you should be able to get low-level provisioning mats from level-appropriate areas. If you're looking in Vet areas, you won't find them. Look in barrels, baskets, and crates, in places like warehouses, docks, and ships, in the low level areas of your home alliance. I've found a lot of lower level mats this way. You won't get them from sacks, furniture, or from delves, however.

Don't panic. None of this is true.

I just finished leveling provisioning to 50 on a character who started it when she was level 42. You can start any craft at any time and level it as fast or as slow as you want. The only issue with provisioning is getting started with low level recipies, which drop at your level. You can buy them very inexpensively at guild kiosks, or get them from your guild bank. You only need 1 or 2 recipes from each tier to level completely, and you can buy ingredients if you don't want to take the time to go to low level areas and get them.

So relax, it's not broken. It's the misinformation mill that's these forums, working overtime again.

This is still a major problem. Why can't they make recipes drop for the level of the area instead of the level of the character even before they do a complete revamp of provisioning?
    Why?
    Why?
    Why?

I ran my L20 character to Rawl'kha and he is getting rank 2 recipe drops.
My Templar hit L46, I forgot to do some looting of containers before leveling up, now I all I get is L50 recipes. One little mistake and I can no longer loot L45 recipes.

All my VR characters are getting L50 recipes no matter what low level zone I go to.

    Why?
    Why?
    Why?
Why must provisioning be so frustrating right now?

I don't want to buy from the guild stores for this item, I want to find it.
I don't want to level a character specifically just to find one level range of provisioning recipes each and every time I need a specific level range of recipes.

Especially if I want a shot at finding epic(purple) recipes.

This has talked about and never fixed for months. Months!

Why does it matter so much if you get purple low-level recipes? How much actual use could you possibly ever get from them?
