So people are complaining about BE being OP when nightblades have a skill that completely ignores block? I have my block up and this guy spams Swallow Soul on me (he's also wearing light armor so it's costing him like nothing) and he's hitting me for 400 on non-crits, and oh yeh, it's also healing him. BE can be blocked and countered, how do you counter a skill that ignores block? Dodging it works but that's like 400 stamina a dodge.

No, but seriously, do you really think that one power completely encompases a NB or your class or any of the other hundred things that you could have done in that fight?
I would love for this information to just be on the table in spreadsheets so everyone can say, "look, if this does that to you, use this and that will counter it, so nothing needs to be nerfed."
However, ZOS does not want us to know about our characters. We don't have dueling, so players can't even practice one on one fights, like this OP was complaining about.

✭The heal is trivial. It gives the ability it's utility, but has a difficult time making it worth it.

XBOX NARuze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.
He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.
This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.0 -

dragnier✭✭✭Swallow Soul only heals the NB and the extra 10% heal bonus doesn't even affect itself, it only affects heals from other skills or players. Funnel Health is much better group Utility unless you are a tank because it heals two other players for just as much as it heals the NB for each cast.1 -
Eivar✭✭✭✭LOL the heal on swallow soul is a HoT, so it just refeshes the timer after every cast, and it only heals for like 25% every 2 seconds, for 10.....so a total of 125%, at 400 dmg that's healing him for 100 every 2s...50 every second.......if you can't outdeeps 50hps you got serious issues.6 -

Immovable (Immovable Brute/Unstoppable)
Evasion (Elude/Shuffle)
Circle of Protection (Ring of Preservation/Turn Undead)
Just to name a few options.
They are called Mitigation abilities because they reduce, or mitigate, the damage you take from things.3 -
xylus289_ESO✭✭✭If you spam a HoT ability like Swallow Soul it will clip.. meaning it cuts the timer of off the current HoT by that ability and resets it. He would have to wait two seconds before casting again to get one healing tick.
Spamming that ability has practically no downtime so he wouldn't be getting healed if he spammed it back to back every second he could.

Press right mouse button and wow it reduce the dmg!
It can be blocked like every other skill.

Off topic: As a Nightblade, I am very jealous of Funnel Health users... I really want the utility and ultimate generation in groups, but I tank a lot, so it is hard for me to let go of that +10% healing received =(1 -

If you had said funnel health I would have suspected I had done this. When I run heals it's the only attack I put on my bar.

Oh wait, you probably couldn't have interrupted him, because block can be held down while spamming instant cast abilities like swallow soul. Yeah, combat in this game is broken.0 -

Oh wait, you probably couldn't have interrupted him, because block can be held down while spamming instant cast abilities like swallow soul. Yeah, combat in this game is broken.

I made a character vaugely recently that looked fine in creation, nothing excessive at all, and they didn't have some ridiculous barbie doll physique (or so i thought) As soon as i loaded into Vukhel Guard i noticed that my Bosmer had absolutely huge ***! My gosh i thought.
