I guess the majority of the biggest fan sites barely seeing a post a day and this forum being mostly complaints is a "thriving community".

It is all in the spin.

Perhaps they were referring to the community in the game, rather than the moaning minnies on the forum.

I see more activity on the forums than in game. After joining about 10 large active guilds and being the only one that logs in to them, leaving joining another one to watch everyone dwindle over and over I don't see this thriving community in game.

    Huh?

Where do you people go to get away from the crowds? Seriously.

I can easily see a couple hundred different players during a normal play session doing questing. That includes stopping off at a city to do bank and craft stuff. The bank alone contributes at least 20 people and normally I cannot see the banker.

Guild chat is so busy it is in tab separate from zone. Two guilds regularly provide close to 100 people online and they are a chatty bunch.

I ignore zone chat. In the botting days, it was all about bots and gold farmers. Now, it is mostly guild recruit and WTS/WTB, plus the people who lack the ability to socialize without causing problems. Either way, no useful content.

I'm not saying I don't see people in game, but look how many people are here on these forums. I don't see those types of numbers.

If you are in guilds that have 100 people online at a time you are lucky. I don't even see that in my trading guilds that stay at 500 people and kick people after two weeks inactive. I have joined active guild after active guild and see everyone quit logging in time and time again. I am either extremely unlucky or you are in a good situation.
