I guess I farm a little. I don't go for materials, could care less for motifs (although they are starting to build) but I want at least one Scuttle and one Dragon-sap recipe and I haven't gotten one yet, so I'll keep doing the rounds staying L15, until I get one. It's aggravating that I still often find L1 recipes but rarely find L10/L15 recipes. I know from one of my other Alts that as soon as I level up I'll only find L20 recipes :(.

Motif farming is one thing, I combine it with mats for provisioning and daeric hearts and the other rare style stones.
tend to comb the area I pass trough too while questing but has rarely done much grinding except running public dungeons multiple times.
Grinding just make you go in circles.

Yes, they all left to go infest WildStar like the bloodsucking tics that they are.
Generally, RMT go to where they get the most customers, which often correlates to the popularity of the game.

    Just saying.

If that where true they would have already left Wildstar. Botters infest all games no matter what. ESO still has plenty of players.

Huh... All my friends/family are still playing so they must not have lost many players at all.

Maybe anecdotal evidence isn't the best thing to base your argument on.

There will always be bots as long as there are players to sell to.

Now , there are 2 options:

    1) They found new ways to gather the gold which doesnt appear to most players.

    2) The number of players buying is low and thus they dont need to put much effort gathering gold anymore. Either because there arent that many players or because the players dont feel the need to buy gold right now.

I randomly looted a Kuta from a node last week and later noticed someone buying Kuta on zone chat for 3k each. I went ahead and sold it to the guy since I'm not an enchanter and I needed the coin, but noticed his character name was just basically gibberish. Later, I checked out one of these gold sites and saw what they were selling Kuta for...according to their gold-to-dollar exchange rate the Kuta was worth around 3500g, leaving them a healthy profit. (Randomly they were also selling Nickel and the other 9 basic style materials for what converted to over 1k gold each which made no sense to me since you can buy it in game for like 100g from an NPC)

The farmers are still there, but they're not botting at least which is a massive improvement. Probably all these people that you see in zone chat buying alchemy mats at a certain price, wanting to buy stacks of raw crafting mats for 1.5k, etc are the new gold farmers. They've adapted to what Zeni's been doing to stop them.

But the bots moving through the ground like sharks and popping their heads up to loot nodes was super annoying, glad that has been handled at least.

All i have to base on is my personal experience. I know more folks playing wildstar now than eso. i'm the only one left.

There is some debate as to whether the gold farmers left because ZOS chased them off or because they no longer found ESO profitable and just moved on to more fertile ground. Truth be told, it's probably some combination of the two.

Either way, I hope the game never goes F2P. Nothing attracts gold farmers like a F2P MMO.

It will if it continues down this road of ZOS ignoring the major complaints of it's customer base. It will either close up shop or go free to play.

I'll do that if I'm close to leveling up and need to get to the next level to make some new armor or something. Though frankly, it's boring as hell and I much much prefer avoiding mobs than farming them (even if it costs me XP).

Zen removed bots and gold sellers I am positive of this. Anyone that believes that all bots and gold sellers would suddenly pick up and leave is simply kidding themselves. It's a ridiculous notion. There's absolutely no way they would all just leave of their own accord and not ever be replaced by new ones. Make no mistake Zen got rid of them and are currently keeping them out.

The main argument here is that there profits were low or non-existent. There is simply no way to know this unless you are one of them. I highly doubt that they could offer so much and no players ever took advantage of it.

Give credit where its due. Thanks for winning the battle ZOS. A great many of us appreciate it and the game is better for it.

Go try to buy some gold off the internet. Bots are still alive and farming. Don't kid yourself. Guaranteed. They just aren't standing around in a bot train as they used to. They simply got smarter, as always. Name a game any game (MMO) there's bots. Easily proven by googling bots for that specific game. You are very naive if you really think they are gone or have never searched the internet before.

Then you proceeded to attempt to further support your made up fact with:
"Make no mistake Zen got rid of them and are currently keeping them out."

So stop trying to pretend like you weren't.

They are better in that they finally got rid of the very very ridiculously obvious bot trains that should have never been in the game in the first place. The fact that they failed miserably at keeping such obvious bots from the game in the first place should not be praised as an accomplishment. They finally did what is common sense.

You get a lot more purple and gold tempers from refining raw materials than you do from deconstructing dropped loot... Seriously, how often have you had purple or gold loot drop?

I rarely see purple loot and I'm not sure I've ever gotten anything gold (outside of 2 Imperial motifs that I found), even at VR 7 now.

I've had pretty good luck deconstructing stacks of raw material. I always check the guild traders for cheap raw mats. Once I found 20 raw jute for 150-200 g (I forget exactly) and refined them and got one embroidery and one elegant lining. Much cheaper than buying those direct, but I was considerably lucky in that case. But I think that's a much better gamble than just buying those tempers directly.

In a stack of 100 raw cloth material, I usually get 3-4 hemming, 1-2 embroidery, 1-2 elegant lining, and 0-1 dreugh wax. With other trait stones mixed in. And you can usually find that stack of material for around 2k or a good hour's searching.

This guy gets it! I deconstruct every piece of gear I get (and will continue doing so until I have every crafting skill at 50 - I'm very close), but the vast majority of the tempers I get come from the raw materials that I refine. I don't spend any time specifically farming mats either - I just get my raw mats from my hirelings and from harvesting every node I happen to come across while playing.

But you can actually outrun your ability to press print screen before the guy is gone.

Happened to me when I ambushed a guy who was jumping a wall. I fell for a bit and was back on ground. But was running about a billion miles an hour. Reset right away and it was gone. Many farmers were using it to level their characters fast.

Am i the only one here who cannot make any sense of what this guy is saying ??

It's like this guy cannot finish a single sentence and on top of that he translated his post from one language to another about 40 times before finally translating it to english, using a free translating software created by a first year programming student.

This post did not make more sense to me than saying something like :" OH !! Apple Gown Tornado !!!

In the first part I think he was trying to get a screenshot of a guy that was speedhacking but the guy got away before he had a chance to.

Then the second part he was explaining how he glitched himself gaining superspeed in the process

I think they have moved to Archeage.

That wouldn't make sense since Archeage is going to be F2P which means they will charge you for the gold themselves.

Even in F2P mmo you can buy gold from gold spammers heck you buy "Credits" to SWTOR and it is have F2P model so just for a game is F2P don't mean the 3rd party company can earn real money buy selling in game money to F2P mmo. Gold farming is million $$ industry and most of those company is base in China and in Asia.

Ever think they left because it wasn't profitable to work in a low population game? Just a little devil's advocate there.

Thing about RMT is that there's a kind of hierarchy, the big ones left ESO some time ago, those that are left are the second and even third tier picking up the scraps the big ones no longer see profitable.

The price of ESO gold has slumped, that's all one needs to know to realise it wasn't due to ZOS super technical efforts to eliminate the bots that caused them to largely disappear. The bots I see now are almost exclusively non-RMT players simply cheating while asleep.

The botters are more or less gone, haven't seen one in months! And that's the important thing for me.

The bots have gone from here and from wildstar, pretty sure it's got nothing to do with the efforts of either company and more to do with the state of the games, regarding population levels etc...

    Same as the addons....
