This is pretty much a reflection of the historical views on left-handedness (the word "sinister" comes from the latin word for left-handed, because those who were left-handed were considered to be touched by the devil), and I wouldn't be overly surprised if similar views are held in Tamriel. In medieval times those who showed signs of being left-handed while growing up were forced to become right-handed (which doesn't really work that well).Yam_of_the_Center wrote: »Left handedness is a sign of Daedric influence and you shall all be burned at the stake and eaten by Bosmer.

I mentioned this to someone in beta, even if your character was left handed they would probably train to hold the shield the same way as everyone else. Think about facing another shield user. What good is having your shield on the same side as their shield instead of on the same side as their deadly weapon?

I'll let Rocky's coach put it this way:driosketch wrote: »Anyone remember the third Rocky movie when they trained the southpaw to fight with his right?

Because you would be used to fighting that way, the other guy wouldn't.

Mickey: Left handed fighters, they're the worst. They try to come in there with that big left. Right's no damn good. They ought to outlaw southpaws!
Rocky Balboa: Why didn't you tell me that before?
Mickey: I didn't want to hurt your feelings.
PS, and it was Rocky II not III. My mistake.
Have to say, that could possibly add an interesting option for weapon swap, if blocking wasn't already 360 degrees. Natural fighting stance, in the middle of a fight -flip-, now it's crazy town.driosketch wrote: »I'll let Rocky's coach put it this way:driosketch wrote: »Anyone remember the third Rocky movie when they trained the southpaw to fight with his right?

You will reacall, however, that the strategy was to use orthodox and then switch back to his natural southpaw to throw his opponent off. Rocky's style though is southpaw.

Agreed. I'd be OK with 100s of Osiris, or 100s of Ptahs, or even 100s of Thoths, but 100s of Horus is just out of the question. From what I've seen from projects probably 100th the size of an MMO its probably more on the side of 100's of horus and thus really not worth it until they can start putting in the really low priority stuff they probably have on each others pet project lists.
